You know, when I hear things like that I wonder if Canada is even worth it. Is your life better than what it was in South Africa?
My close friend had a issue in heart. The procedure done in Canada is simply not available in India even for top money. He had to pay ZERO dollars for it. So yes, compared to likes of India it is many many shades better. I do not know about South Africa.

Just saw an update in my profile, and when I opened it I saw that medicals are extended! So happy that I won't be spending 400 dollars for medicals :D
My theory is; our medicals expired on 7th of Jan, after 2 months it was somehow triggered and evaluated again? Not sure but I think I saw someone saying something similar to this. Anyway, for now all I know is eligibility is passed, info sharing is completed, security is still not started (total bs) and medicals are extended. Any speculations for our application? When do you think it is possible to get the golden email?

As far as I know my eligibility passed,info sharing passed ,criminality, security-Not started (2nd page gcms)

Very strange to see how VO works;
IN your case security is not started, however eligibility, info sharing is complete

While those with Edmonton VO;
for almost all applicants Security is complete while eligibility is not even started

Canada is not perfect in every regard. I think biggest adjustment / shock is to understand that even though Canada is a G7 developed country there are so many things that you will find which are better done in less developed countries. If you are coming from India for example you may find banking quite restrictive, online transfer options are joke and telecom data rates are absurd. Similar experience when you try and file income tax. If you search online you will see car theft is pretty common in GTA and police does absolutely nothing other than writing a report and giving you a copy to file for insurance. For a developed country the number of scams/frauds I have heard about are astounding. One of the other most common one is the packers and movers fraud. Again police won't do anything. So yeah you may question is Canada that much better in many regards.

But then there are incidences like what @GandiBaat has given and you will see value in Canada. But in the end there are many small / big reasons to choose Canada over your home country be it India / South Africa / Nigeria etc.

Might be hit or miss. I got mine extended till April 2022 way back in April 2021(expired in Feb 2021, so 2 months later) and then they did nothing for 11 months. Yesterday, I did my re-medical after I was asked to do so.

Guys, my remed was approved. I did it on February 26th, and it was sent March 5th(had to pester the clinic a bit, but it was holiday until March 2nd due to carnaval). And passed today. I also sent my med to CIO, which I believe is where they do medicals(it’s where they do your first med)

They have been sending out PPRs much more frequently comparing to last year so I hope they won't make us wait for another 11 months :')
