Hello fellow applicants, the end is near! I finally received my passport request email! Now I am a little confused as to the next step, can anyone help me understand:

1. Do I need to send the passport to VFS Paris or a photocopy of the passport to my local IRCC office here in France?

2. I also saw in my gckey there is an option to upload a copy of the passport digitally within 30 days, do I need to do this? If so why do I need to physically mail a copy of my passport to ircc France?

(I applied as a French national)

What does the passport request say? That's what you should do.

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada.

Due to ongoing concerns related to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Embassy of Canada to Lebanon is currently operating at significantly reduced capacity and performing limited critical functions.

The application about which you are enquiring is in queue for an interview. Applicants will be contacted by e-mail or telephone or via their online account if additional information is required.

We thank you for your understanding and patience as we begin to resume limited operations while ensuring the health and safety of our clients as well as our employees.

Applicants may check average processing times in Beirut on this link:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp. While efforts will be made to meet these processing times, please note that, due to COVID-19, additional delays may occur.

Sincerely,

Interview is the last step?

Once your interview is done and you pass then you will receive pre arrival followed by DM AND PPR. Have you already completed your medical and biometrics? I’m also at the Beirut visa office

Yes, I did all of those, but I guess security is not initiated yet. My wife is already in Canada on a visitor visa. Do they start security after an interview? Also, I am not sure how big the queue is.

With Ontario Shutdown/Stay-At-Home Order, Can we expect PPRs for the applicants whose Processing is happening in CPC-Ottawa?

I am wondering the same, but I have seen that folks who have their applications at CPC Ottawa, are waiting for the PPR since more than 2 Months. Only god knows what people
At CPC Ottawa are doing :/

probably not because the visa sticker has anti-counterfeiting feature
it will make me laugh if ircc allow it print from a home use printer

True but note that for the most part, the visa printing does not take place in Ottawa. The PPR request could come from Ottawa or from a field office requesting applicant submit to visa office in India or wherever.

Don't know about 'passport request' for those already in Canada, separate matter.
