You must be physically in Canada.Just wondering if you can take the online test in a different country? I am thinking about visiting my families but afraid an invitation to test will come while I am away.
Thanks !

Test/Interview/Oath - All to be done inside the country like it happened during pre-pandemic.Just wondering if you can take the online test in a different country? I am thinking about visiting my families but afraid an invitation to test will come while I am away.

Of course! But some people may need to be convinced by hearing from IRCC directly to stop asking the same question over and over.No need. Answer is no. Test has to be taken while physically in Canada.
1. Why bother, you have to be IN Canada to take the test and the oath.Best to ask call center agents here +1 (888) 242-2100
Even before the pandemic, the general public has been largely restricted from entering the embassies/consulates, by appointment for very specific purposes only. I don't think they'd take on the logistics and security for them to allow people to come in to take a 30-minute test. How about this scenario: take the test at a Canadian embassy or consulate abroad. Technically if you are inside a consulate you are on Canadian Soil. Has anyone explored this possibility?

I stand corrected. Thank you. That's a common mistake.
The embassy of a country in another country is inviolable, but the land belongs to the host country.
If you go to the Canadian Embassy in Berlin, you're in Germany, not Canada.
