The eligibility and background checks will be updated with completion dates when you receive a final decision on your application. After the dates for MEP and BIL, we’ll only get the so-called ghost updates. Status of eligibility and background checks can be inquired via calls to IRCC, webform or GCMS notes.
Thanks for your reply.

@joconstantine and @ZAtoCD A question on POF. For a family of three as per IRCC website I have to show CAD 19836. Considering the currency fluctuations I'm planning to have CAD 20000 in my account. Now, in the application and in the gift deed documents what amount should I mention? CAD 19836 or CAD 20000?

AOR can be instant, like mine. Medicals passed is at around 1 month usually. 2 days after that, I got my biometrics request. To my knowledge, around 2 months after that it should be the eligibility confirmed update.
I see, so the first thing which will be updated would be the medical then, is that correct? the other stuff like Background Check, would be done only if medicals passed?

Now that the second wave has been declared in Canada, any guesses as to how it would impact the FSW draws? Because offices etc. might close down again.

It would need to reflect the actual amount that was given in the deed and is in your account. Because they may contact your financial institution to verify. Have to be accurate. :)

I'm also concerned about the viability of finding work, for anyone who does actually make it to Canada to activate PR. Worst economic recession since World War 2, apparently. Doesn't seem good for work prospects.

I think the application asked for "How much we will bring to Canada". I entered 13000 CAD. But in my proof of funds, I showed more than that.

It's definitely fine to bring more. Of course, if we indicate a certain amount on our application, and then have more in our accounts at a later stage because we saved more, that's not a problem. That's a positive thing! :)

Thanks for your answers @joconstantine and @ZAtoCD
Pleasure! Anytime. :)

Here's an interesting article for us all: https://www.cicnews.com/2020/09/october-will-shape-canadian-immigration-for-years-to-come-0915836.html#gs.gzrkzm.

I'm interested to see:
  1. If the immigration targets for the next few years change.
  2. If anything to do with how applications are processed changes. E.g. changes to the online EE system, changes to document validity periods, and changes to how biometrics are given.
  3. If any concessions are made to allow those who are currently receiving PR to land in Canada, despite the border restrictions.
  4. If there's any mention of immigrant job-finding success.
