They are two different statuses in Canada. One gives you the right to live and work indefinitely, as long as you fulfil some residence requirements. Citizenship also gives you the right to vote and be elected, and there aren't any residence requirements. What is differences between permanent residence application and Citizenship application
Not a safe assumption. Here is a february applicant whose application was returned yesterday:Is it safe to assume that April submissions would have found their way back to applicants by now if there was a problem?
I'm trying not to think about my application but here we are...
Wow. That's interesting. Thank you for the info and for the kind response. I realized last night that I put "Ireland" as my birth country as per my preferred passport but for my PR I put "Northern Ireland" as my birth country so I wasn't sure if I created a problem for myself in that respect. I included both of my passports though neither agree on my birthplace - one uses county, the other uses town. Hopefully it is not an issue. Not a safe assumption. Try not to think too much about it. Harder said than done (I would know) but it might help to focus on other ongoing projects if you have any..
One makes you a PR, the other makes you a citizen. You apply for both by paper (although you can apply for PR online, not all PR though--spousal sponsorship is by paper only)), but only the PR application can be linked to an online GC account. You can check the status of both applications on ECAS.What is differences between permanent residence application and Citizenship application
You can also make an online application for PR - it doesn't have to be on paper. One makes you a PR, the other makes you a citizen. You apply for both by paper, but only the PR application can be linked to an online GC account. You can check the status of both applications on ECAS.
