Hello. I just received a letter from IRCC asking for 2 things:
1) It is asking me to get my RCMP check. Is this to see if I have committed a crime in Canada? This doesn't mean something bad does it? and yes NATURALLY I googled it ....I haven't crossed the border into the US since 2017. Maybe that's why they asked...
2) Since i had taught online for a company based in CHina they wanted to know if I had resided IN China at any point. They said all I needed to do for this was to reply to their email which I did immediately.
Sooooooooooooooo I think...I THINK this is all a good sign.
We are headed to London tomorrow to get the RCMP check at something called Commissionaires.

RCMP check is totally normal for Inland people... not everyone gets the request but it definitely is a normal request. AND... it’s often the last request you get right before approval and DM. So if you got the request it’s good news!

I got AIP a month ago and it’s still not reflected on ecas (it shows DM on both sides but the most recent updated line is about an additional documents request). But it did update to show DM for SA. That said I really think the updates process for both GCKEY and ecas is kinda broken right now...it rarely updates for anyone and even the call centre agents don’t seem to have great access.
