Inland Landing Interview from Vancouver Office: waiting time

Oh yes that is true. I just figured I’d replace the card once expiration comes near — you must do it eventually for sure but you don’t have to do it immediately (as you must with the SIN).

Inland Landing Interview from Vancouver Office: waiting time

No, just your SIN with Service Canada (if you had a temporary one). MSP stays the same.

Inland Landing Interview from Vancouver Office: waiting time

So you can stalk your card in the mail haha :D (Seriously, it lets you see when the card is processed and it lets you know the date your card was mailed out to you. No Canada Post tracking number but it gives you an idea of arrival date.)

    No updates after AOR

That’s not necessarily abnormal, it can take 4 months or more for some. So don’t worry! Link your application via GCKEY if you haven’t done so already, that way you’ll be sure you aren’t missing their updates.

    **INLAND SPOUSE SPONSORSHIP JANUARY 2019**

August 2018 Van applicant here— I never got a DM letter/notice, just DM on ecas, but I got my landing letter (by email) a month to the day after DM on ecas, which seems like the average.

Decision Made but can still be refused?

PFL would probably come before DM. I personally never got any formal DM notice beyond ecas — we just had to wait for the landing letter. No news is good news and waiting with no updates for a while is very normal!

Inland Landing Interview from Vancouver Office: waiting time

    1. No, they won’t let you in that early to wait. There’s simply not enough room. There’s a person at the door who buzzes you in and checks your appointment letter, and when we were there waiting he was kindly but firmly sending away everyone who came more than 10min early. If you have to arrive...

INLAND AUGUST 2018 APPLICANTS - JOIN HERE

Don’t worry! It’s really confusing wording, I think, when they say “first entry” or “initial entry.” They just need the date your last “visit” started in order to calculate your length of residency in Canada for your citizenship application if/when you apply. They don’t care about any previous...

I imagine they have all that info, and yeah, if they didn’t stamp you and you crossed by land, they shouldn’t need more. I know a lot of people who fly just dig through their email to print off their old email confirmation of flight/emailed boarding pass, but otherwise, just make sure you know...

Bring your set of pictures, your passport, proof of initial entry into Canada (boarding pass, stamped passport, visitor record, etc) and your OWP for sure, and then anything else the letter asks for. Mine had an easy to read list (with highlights in blue and yellow for important points, lol...

INLAND AUGUST 2018 APPLICANTS - JOIN HERE

Don’t worry! The letter seems to take longer than you’d think. I suppose there’s a lot to coordinate, with people canceling/rescheduling, with interviewers going on vacation or on leave...it seems very normal for letters to take a few weeks at least. But in most places, the interview date comes...

I got the landing letter a month after DM on ecas, and the landing letter gave me an appointment date a little over two weeks from the issuing date on the letter. (Same date I received the letter, since it was emailed.) So about six weeks from DM on ecas to our interview day!

I think it really varies by office. I had a little over two weeks’ notice and that seems typical for my local office, maybe even a little fast, since earlier this year people had closer to 3-4 weeks’ wait from receipt of letter to actual appointment day. And some people had less than two weeks—...

I got my interview letter by email just about a month after DM on ecas— ecas never did update, nor did GCKEY ever update... until today, after my interview :D now it finally has updated, so hang in there, every one, even though the lack of updates is so rough. Things are moving, even if the...

Inland Landing Interview from Vancouver Office: waiting time

Yes, you have to bring any and all valid work permits or visas along (they void them when they give you the PR paper).

Inland Landing Interview from Vancouver Office: waiting time

For a lot of ppl lately it’s been one month from DM to letter, so give them at least until August 24 — in fact mine showed up exactly one month after my DM, to the very day!

If I recall correctly, someone in the August batch got DM maybe a week or two after the RCMP request? This was within the last month or so as I remember. Ours came about ten days after the last ADR they gave us (not RCMP request specifically, though, never got that).

OWP Received in Mail but No Approval Online

Online doesn’t matter at all and to be honest I think something’s broken with online updates generally. Mine stopped updating altogether! But you have the paper and that’s all you need :)

    Transfer of Application

Yes, it’s normal — some are lucky and go faster but four months is very normal.
