I have a query for you guys. Need your valuable inputs. It is regarding the reference letter.
Well, the thing is that, I worked for my current company as a Trainee from the period Sep 2017 to Nov 2018. So, I was working off-role during that period and was getting the salary in cash mode. However, in December 2018, I was appointed as the on-role employee and was given increment as well. Since then I'm getting salary in cheque mode.

So, how to mention all this in my reference letter?
Do I need to mention the annual salaries for both, off-role and on-role?

Or Only the current one needs to be stated?
And how to mention about my job positions for the past and present one?

Well, I'm working as a Software Developer from the begining!
Is company willing to acknowledge your cash experience in the reference letter? If no, I would recommend to not include it, more so as you have contiguous non-cash experience at the same firm.

You're mistaken buddy. Its not 5 years! Minimum 2 years is the condition in the PNP stream.
Oh alright. I mistook it to be 5 years. Every FSWP application is also eligible for PNP but depends on the profile, for the province to send the invite right? Or do we have to submit a different application for PNP?

I’m really worried about this tie breaker. I’m loosing 5 points in early August and unfortunately my spouse failed to increase her scores .


I’m having sleepless nights because of this tie breaker. With my birthday coming (August 10 ) I’m getting frustrated with every draw. I never thought I would be struggling @ 450.
All of 450 backlog will be cleared in next two draws (May 15 & 29). You dont have to worry anymore, time has come to sail through now!

When did you create your profile by the way?

Great, thank you for the guidance, really appreciate it. Yes, it seems like every additional point is golden in terms of getting an ITA, based on the current trend.

Correct. Once you become PR through PNP nomination, you have to do your best to find a job and get the results during first 6 months approximately. If you don't have any positive result, then you're good to move out of that province. There's no rule which prohibits that and if it is a case, that would a violation under Canadian Constitution Act regarding freely moving within Canada.
That sounds fair. I will look into this. However, personally, if one had to choose between FSWP and PNP, it would be FSWP due to fewer restrictions and lesser fee right? I am keeping this in mind and hoping for the best.

I have done some research in PNP and the restriction you are talking about. People still move out of their nominated province if they don't get the job they want. It is very rare that CIC will ask and question anyone that why they moved out. But still if they do catch someone, you should have proof like you applied for the jobs in that province but didn't get any positive result. No one will throw you out of Canada.
Most of the provinces provide the nomination on job offers only, so people rarely move out. it only applies to Ontario mainly since they nominate people who doesn't have job offer in Canada.

So far as I understood, there is no exclusive template for work experience letter. However, the points which must be included are very clear and they are as follows-

Purpose of work experience: To prove each work experience claim and to validate that the applicant meets program requirements.

A reference or experience letter from the employer, which
  • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
  • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits.

I agree with 13nitinsharma where he suggested to ''create a grid with the all the titles you worked in the company. Include title, start to end date and location.''
As your whole work experience comes under same NOC, it would be better if you add one more line in your letter: For your reference, Mr. Nik's position corresponds to the National Occupational Classification, NOC, XXXX.

Draft your own letter by including all the points which are the must and convince your manager to just copy and paste them in a letterhead.

Well, I've been suggested by my supervisor to write the letter on my own and give them the format, so that they will type it on the company letterhead. That's why I'm getting quite confused.

As, I had different salaries throughout my working experience. Does it needs to be stated accordingly? Or should I mention it in the personal history?

It's only required if you need to use the training period for work experience points. Otherwise add it in your personal history, and there's no need to worry about salary.
Well, that's also a valid point.

A reference letter with the latest job title works.
Moreover, the letter need not have any salary details, just needs to mention that you were a full time employee from so and so dates along with the job responsibilities.

Can confirm this, as my former teammate got his PR with that and I will be using the same one once I get the ITA.

Also, I can share the reference letter sample that he used over a DM as it's for a Software developer position.

Yes, all of the FSWP files are eligible for the PNP stream. If your profile would catch the interest of a specific province, you'll be approached by it and will be given the NOI.
Ah I see, so basically gaps between draws increased since then and number of ITA's per draw is lower?
No! There has been only a single 3-week gap draw, which resulted in the dilemma. Afterwards, the gap between the draws has become unchanged and draws are being held bi-weekly. Now, the cut-off will decrease only, if there will be an increase in the ITAs.

It took 5 draws to reach CRS 450 from 457. Im currently at CRS 445. So, what are my chances to receive ITA before September??

PCC is only required if you have stayed 6 months or more. You dont need to submit PCC in case of 3 months.

Yes, you can go for vacation for 10 days. No issues in that.
i'm in the same boat as well.

Do i need to get the PCC for countries where my total days of stays( multiple entries and not continuous stays ) exceeds six months. For instance i visited UK 5 times for 1.5 month duration each time.

As per the CIC website they are only asking for continuous stays for six months but my consultant is insisting on getting PCC even for countries where total stays exceeds six months .

I will complete 2 years of work soon(first week of June); Just realized that the system gave me the points for 2 years already. And current CRS is 470, in case I get ITA, I am gonna grab it, and submit the application next month...

My wife ( Primary applicant ) is also completing her 3rd work anniversary in June( first week) which will increase our points to 470.
so when did you get an update from the system about your score increase ?
I'm hoping that this would get applicable for us as well.

That’s correct. Submit PCC for countries where you’ve exceeded your stay more than 6 months. It can be a one continuous stay for 6 months or combination of short trips exceeding 6 months (whichever the case is).

I'm hoping that this would get applicable for us as well.
I checked my wife's profile after your post and imagine my surprise when i saw the Invitation message sitting there.

Since our initial score was 445 we didn't even check the profile after the draw on 1st May and even our consultant missed it (they were not expecting it either ).

After our euphoria subsided we are a little panicked now as some of documents are still pending and one week is already lost.
