I received my CBSA Notes by Post today. It contained two pages and a CD. The cd only contained one pdf file. (record.pdf) I was really surprised at the content of the pdf. It was 90MB and 774 pages. It contained all the applications that I have made to CIC. My initial work permit application, Work permit extension, BOWP application and the Express Entry application and the related GCMS notes for all of them and all the documents that I have attached to those applications.
I had requested for all the electronic case files for my UCI number from CBSA through the Privacy act. Probably that is the reason why I got so much information from CBSA. Really surprised at how much information about me they are keeping in file. I feel that no other agency will have so much data about me. The documents included most of the email communication that I had with CIC and some of the CSC's that I have raised in email format but not all the CSC's or emails. Looks like only the ones that are forwarded to the case agents are logged. The ones where I got generic replys are not there in the notes I received.
The Express Entry GCMS notes was exactly the same as the GCMS notes I received in December but with out anything redacted (except for the Info Sharing section). The info sharing section was completely redacted in the CBSA notes but its not redacted in the GCMS notes from CIC. Looks like they both have different criteria about what they should remove.
The CBSA notes also says my Security is not started and Criminality is in progress. The last update in the Notes section is on July 27th 2018. I do not see any dates after this anywhere in the notes except for the Client Details section where the last update date is fairly recent. But it looks like some kind of automated job doing some checking. The last update is alway WBMRCR or WPMAUTOSEARCH and done mostly around midnight.
My next plan is to contact my local MP and try and get some information through them. I have friends who contacted their local MPs but they only get the same information that you get if you call the CIC call center. If I can get which agency is currently processing my application, I could use that information to contact that agency through the privacy act and ask them about my case. For my CBSA notes request, I was contacted three times by CBSA officials. Twice by email and once by phone call. The phone call was kind of verification and emails were to get the consent forms signed by my spouse. The person who called was super nice and told the notes would reach me in a months time by post.
Completed 9.5 months. Not sure how long its going to take.
