Did she give biometrics in last 10 years? Is she on visitor visa? Biometrics is mandatory for PR. If she just came in as a visitor and hasn't done biometrics then she will have to leave Canada. You can't do biometrics in Canada as of now. If she has visa for US then she can go there and get it done, otherwise she will have to go back to home country.

@others: pls correct me if I am wrong

When someone I know got a request for Biometric she was in Canada too on a temporary visa but the request was from Visa Office New Delhi, She did her biometric at RCMP and upload the document on MYCIC account.

If she is living in Canada as a student or temporary worker then it makes sense to send RCMP finger print. If she is on visitor visa, and has not done biometrics in last 10 years then she might have to leave country to do it.
She is on visitor visa, I did not pay for biometric fee bcoz my reprst told me not to pay now:mad: and wait for request:D

Aw crap. For some reason we got confused whether my husband needed to get biometrics or not (US citizen) and we didn’t pay for it upfront. Just paid for it now. Great. Another thing to work against at, lol.

Hopefully what @jerry777 said should be valid and she wont have to go back and get it done at RCMP... btw when did you get ur spouse here?? before or after marriage? I am planning to apply for visitor visa since I have the aor and SA. what are the chances? seen few friends doing this and they got approved.

I know students/work visa can visit airport for biometrics
Yes they can visit airports or POE (Point of Entry) and get biometrics done, but CIC clearly mentions to get this approved first as it is case by case basis only for some students and workers.

Biometrics rule would be different for inland spousal pr applicants as they are applying from within Canada. For them RCMP makes sense.

Yes she did her biometric and medical in Canada but to submit the passport she had to go to India because she was dependent on the application and all the passport must be submitted together along with her family members in family sponsorship.

Finally got our application linked to my GCKey account.
I don't see any of the history in there, such as the medical exam request, is this normal since the link happened after this request via email?
Also no biometrics requested still, seems like many are getting both around the same time.

Thanks.

Rules are the same but it depends where you are in the world. It's ok if you're in Canada on visitor, study or work permit. Your panel physician is able to send the medical result to immigration Canada.
