On 1 - correct. Principal fills it and lists the other parent as dependent under the section Dependant(s).

On 2 - if you are only sponsoring mom and dad and no other people, this form is not needed.
thank you so much! it makes so much more sense now.

@curious205 Thank you for quick reply. They didn't provide any other information apart from what I posted in quotes. There is no Biometrics Acquisition form either. Is there is a way to confirm exactly what they have requested for so I can provide that ?

Thank you!
I would contact the responsible visa for clarification, which in this case would be Ottawa VO. You can contact them using IRCC web form.

Question:

Are your parents here in Canada on super visa?

If that's the case, they might have done biometric already and Ottawa just wants a copy of that for whatever reason. According to the message you posted, they seem to think that your parents have done it. That's why they are asking for a copy. That's what I think anyway. The best thing to do is to contact them directly using IRCC web form or call CIC for clarification.

Yes, it's normal. Don't pay too much attention to the status on ECAS. The most important thing is the email you get from CIC, informing you of the decision they have made. You will find that the status on ECAS changes back and forth in the next few months as your application progresses to the finish line.

My ECAS status did not change after I got SA. But, it changed to "DM - decision made" soon after and PR status changed to "In Process". When it gets transferred to Singapore office, it changed back to "Application Received". So, status does not matter as much as the email you get from CIC, as the email you get from CIC is the final decision on your file. They may go change the online status later.

The funny part is that my wife's ECAS status for her PR never changed to DM even though she has been PR for the last 3 years! lol :p:p

She could even sponsor her parents if she wants to now. ;);)
Thank you. i do remember now that a while back it had gone to IN PROCESS and now its changed back to APPLICATION RECEIVED.

Please help with this

A quick question regarding income:
Income sources:

Amounts paid to you under Employment Insurance Act, other than special benefits: This is excluded from Available income so lets say if someone is on mat leave for 4 months beginning of the year, this person total income on Line 150 must subtract the Amounts paid from Maternity leave.

Can someone please clarify? I was under the impression that mat leave benefit would be considered as a source of income.

Short quick answer: Mat leave is "special benefits". You do not need to subtract it from available income.

Long answer: You need to find out what qualifies as "special benefits", so you can determine if you need to subtract certain incomes. On the income sources form, there's a link to Employment Insurance Act. All you need to do is to click on that and read the "special benefits" section. You will find that "pregnancy" and "parental leave" fall under special benefits. Here is link:

https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/E-5.6/page-7.html#h-14

Basic research methods will come in very handy when you fill out CIC forms.

You cannot have two principle applicants. So, only the principle applicant will fill IMM008. Your dad will be the principle applicant and he will list your mom as his dependent.

As for IMM008 DEP, that's for "additional" dependents. It means you need to fill out this form only if your parents have family members qualify as "dependent" - such as siblings who are under 22 and have been depending on your parents, disabled sibling etc. He does not need to list your mom in IMM008 DEP as "dependent" again. Like I said, it's for "additional" dependent (i.e in addition to your mom).
thank you!!!!!! you made it very clear now. Much appreciated!

I got procedural fairness in november 2018. They ask about my mother Pcc and travel information form. I got selected in second draw in 2017 for pgp. Anybody got the same procedural fainess letter? Please advise
If I know your timeline, I could guess it better. Procedural fairness has several elements in it: processing without undue delay, the right to fair and impartial decision making etc.

Since they only ask for PCC and travel history, I suspect that they are doing procedural fairness on "processing without undue delay", as you are 2017 PGP applicant and quite a few 2018 PGP have already landed. Provide what they asked for without delay, and hope for the best. Unless they specified something significant in the letter, there's nothing to indicate errors on your part other than procedural fairness for delayed processing.

A lot of people on this forum have received letters like this. In fact, everyone will get this email eventually. It means you have just got approved as a sponsor (Sponsorship Approval). The next step is to assign/transfer to local visa office for further processing. But, I'm curious why they did not mention the visa office in this letter. The letter I got contains the visa office they transferred my files to. That visa office will send you medical and police check requests when they are ready to do so. As for the timeline, it will depend on which visa office your files get assigned to. For some, it only takes two weeks, and it seems to take forever for others. So, no one really knows the timeline. You can guess based on the spreadsheet we have here

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B_YAyszLcUxbfe0ur7WPZRPJ0y2COpRJSt8Ce19yrhI/edit#gid=761650616

I think I'm one of those who did not receive any email or paper mail about the Sponsorship Approval. My ecas says Decision Made and my parents already received Medical and PCC Requests. Their status is In Process. Though I have created a GCkey login for them - maybe that's why. The Medical Request and PCC Request came from there - my father's GCkey account. But I never got any email/mail about my Sponsorship approval.

I received acceptance letter to sponsor parent and status online indicates application received. How do I link this to online profile. I used the application number on letter and do I use my name or my parent last name? Also when it asks for how many people in application do I include my parent , my husband and myself or our kids as well or just my parent. OR do I have to wait till status changes to “in process”?

I created MyCIC (GCkey login) account under my father's name and his email address, once the paper application is linked to the MyCIC account, all the correspondences/ letters will be sent to the MyCIC. I recommend to link the paper application as soon as you receive an AOR. The Medical and PCC request and other additional documents will show up in MyCIC.

For linking application use file number, Principal applicant's info and the number of persons in total (sponsor + co-sponsor (if applicable) + Principal applicant + Principal applicant's spouse).
If there is a dependent child, try NOT to include the dependent child and see if it links.

Anyone who filed in 2018, did you ever get chance to look at your EOI ever after submission?, through out your application process or at the time of invitation ?

Hi @YULIA-2016 Today morning I checked my Ecas status and it says 'Decision made' and in cic account the current status is changed to 'Application/profile updated'. But I have not received any email. Please advise what should I do? Thanks in advance.

I again checked now in cic account the current status is again changed back to 'Submitted'. Thats weird !
