Guys, I spoke to CIC agent today. They file has not entered in the system, my file received on July 2nd but still no record if it. Now am kind of scared. does anyone from July first week has received AOR1? please let me know.

YES Sydney is right location , where waiting time is already too much. Now you may relax for 6 to 8 weeks before you get anything at all from them. I hope you used the latest forms from web.

Thanks man for your reply. I just got confused with address bcoz some people sent their sponsorship files to Mississauga address but i followed their document check list that says if the principal applicant lives outside canada then send the file at Sydney, NS mailing address, which is what I did.

Does Receiving a File number mean anything? If yes, what does it mean?

NOT much but applicant gets a courage like an info or whereabouts of whole hard work done. Hey! marriage>then ceremonies > Visits >receipts all is hard work to keep records then organize and send then U should know where is it ? Lost? or? SO they started to give infos like AOR1 and so on.

But is file number an aor or is it basically the same? I received it before the aor.

But is file number an aor or is it basically the same? I received it before the aor.

To my knowledge if you have a file number that is a good news AOR is acknowledgement of receipt., same thing

I would like to know about the financial and income related criteria pertaining to spousal sponsorship.
I have a friend who recently got a Canadian PR (FSW-Outland) and wants to initiate spousal sponsorship.
He is currently a minimum wage worker and after getting his 1st month's salary, he wants to initiate the spousal sponsorship application.

They have a valid marriage certificate and has around $16000 CAD equivalent balance in a combined Indian bank account and FD.

Please suggest asap, the sponsor and principal applicant (sponsor's spouse) have got the forms ready and also the India specific requirement doc as well.

Getting a file number means the application is complete - meaning. Nothing is missing. This is an excellent thing
