Anyone who has exceeded the processing time? Please share what are the options to get the security done? Can we send them a letter of request or something like that?

some people ask their MP to submit a request for information. not sure if that speeds up the process though.

On the US side, they took my fingerprint and asked personal information like my parents’ place/country of birth. It could have taken 30 minutes.. but the attending officer had never done it before so it took over 2 hours. They read me a bunch of statements that I had to say yes/no too. Statements like, “do you believe yourself to be a Citizen of the United States” lol! After that, she printed off a document containing all those statements, and I had to sign.
Then she gave me a piece of paper proving that I had just tried to cross the border.
I took that paper, my current work permit and my COPR to the Canadian side. They made me sign the COPR, put in all my information into their computer and that was it.
Hi! I am from calgary alberta. I planning to do the go to the border just like you did. Do they have a schedule of appointment in going there or is there time limit for the one crossing the border? I really need advice please reply or is there someone who knows how to...would really appreciate any help :)

1-888-242-2100.

The agent, who makes a request, will tell you it’s gonna take few weeks for office to contact you. In my case they contacted me in few hours

Jan 27 applicant, medical passed on May 09. I was asked to send my resume on July 03, submitted on July 04. no update since then.
Jan 27 applicant as well. My medicals were passed at the end of March but no updates since then. I was told that my security check has started but it's been almost 3 months and no updates since then.

Hi guys

Just to give you some perspective- one month before getting PPR, I called CIC and they said my security hadn’t started. Don’t worry if they tell you that, I don’t think the phone agents really have the most up-to-date info.

Hey there! I don’t think you have to make an appointment for the border. It’s all first come first serve. I’d probably go in the afternoon, around noon if I were you. The process could take anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours, just depends on who you get! Good luck

Nothing at all as far as I know. I know quite a few people waiting from over 27 months, they tried every possible thing but nothing worked. Calls, emails, MP, NOTES from all institutions etc
