I received an email today from IRCC requesting my mother's separation agreement from my father but there is none. They are legally separated as they don't live together since forever. They verbally agreed to continue having it that way in 2006. What do I send to IRCC since there are no separation agreement?

Nothing yet.

I called cic last week they said your application is in process as per notes on the file. But no updates until now:(

What about u?
I called last time and they found they went to my province to request for something and already got the response. No other request right now. I didn't find this in the previous call.

My documents were received on May 8th.
Linked the application today, and checked the status:
"Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made"
Phew...

You have to provide legal document of separation and if you meet eligibility to sponsor both then you should have sponsored both as you dont have legal document. Affidavit or anything doesnt help as govt requires legal separation document as in your country also to say a couple is separated they might need separation certificate.

Does lawyer agreements work for divorce papers? I think they wont work as these kind of affidavits works online in case of date of birth certificate where you havent registered years ago and cannot register now due to lack of proofs. So not sure if you have consulted immigration consultant if not you should and also are you eligible to sponsor two people if so they wont mind but if your income is below limit of sponsoring two they will strictly ask for evidence as somepeople might take advantage of system, sponsoring one person as per eligibility and sponsoring other later.

Thanks for the replying. I wouldn't need to sponsor both can't even if I wanted to because he is Canadian so that's rules it out really and income is well above average to sponsor 2. So don't really know why IRCC would even ask when they can clearly check to see that he's Canadian and what I get paid.
