If you have a lot belongings to bring into Canada, please take the advantage of B4 form. Anything listed on B4 form, either they will be accompany with you when you land or you ship them to Canada, those items are all duty free (Those things need to be yours before the landing). You don't have to ship the goods to follow right the way, as long as they are on the goods to follow list, they can be brought into Canada duty free by anyone at anytime, after your landing. Any valuable jewelry you want to bring into Canada, besides to list them on B4 (Actually Canada has updated and changed the form to BSF186 and BSF186a), you need to take pictures and print them out to include them with your B4 (two copies of each your goods to accompany and goods to follow). When you land, you need to ask immigration officer to stamp those forms, and every time, if you would bring in any items on goods to follow, you need to show the CBSA stamped BSF186 and BSF186a form to claim duty free on them.
