As per my experience, the wives never went through background checksI doubt the random check is true. I think everyone goes through the checks.

My only explanation is there is some lazy officers ... maybe all the checks are done but need someone to have a look to update and the officer is taking time to do that
I am not buying that every person is different and we can't compare
My friend and I have identical application from the same country ... even he traveled more than me outside canada and already had oath
I was not in a rush as i was expecting a one year processing time but seeing people get processed fast while i am waiting makes me VERY frustrated
Mine is Middle EastCan we share our country of origin i think it may be related ... mine is Lebanon
Congrats. At the time of interview did the officer mention if your security check was still in process? Finally DM after 3 months and 8 days.
Nothing does as it contains classified material.Does anyone know if there is a way to check the status of security clearance? I know i can find out about the detail of my application by requesting a GCMS note but that does not say anything about the processing details of the security clearance.
I found a link that says you can. Does Anyone has any experience? Its not classified since everyone should be able to access his info according to privacy act law.Nothing does as it contains classified material.
I suppose you could submit an ATIP request to CSIS and see what they have on you. I'd bet it would be redacted, too.I found a link that says you can. Does Anyone has any experience? Its not classified since everyone should be able to access his info according to privacy act law.
It would indeed be redacted.. national security takes precedent over curiosityI suppose you could submit an ATIP request to CSIS and see what they have on you. I'd bet it would be redacted, too.
Well the status of the application would be enough for me to make sure they did not forget about my case.It would indeed be redacted.. national security takes precedent over curiosity
Maybe an interesting idea when my Canadian passport is safely in hand. lolIt would indeed be redacted.. national security takes precedent over curiosity
