Waiting + 3 months since test/interview to DM. Anyone else?

My frustration is above the roof already
10 weeks since passing the test and 12 weeks since ‘receiving’ my FP!!!
Don’t know what they are really checking when I did not leave Canada at all since I came here!!!

My only explanation is there is some lazy officers ... maybe all the checks are done but need someone to have a look to update and the officer is taking time to do that

I am not buying that every person is different and we can't compare

My friend and I have identical application from the same country ... even he traveled more than me outside canada and already had oath

I was not in a rush as i was expecting a one year processing time but seeing people get processed fast while i am waiting makes me VERY frustrated

Hello,

It has been now 3 months, nothing “extra” asked during the interview that was really nice.

My spouse got DM the day after the interview and I am still IP. We have the same trips, etc

My spouse was asked for FP in Dec (before interview invitation).

No requestes for FP or any additional doc were asked for me.

Am I the only one in this situation? Are there others waiting + 3 months to get DM?

Most probably you got picked for a security background check....and there is no timeframe for it to get completed. Just keep waiting.

Hi. I passed my test on Jan 25 and my case is routine. they are only waiting for my security clearance to clear. I know people who applied after me already got DM but I'm still waiting. so frustrating.

The same here. they told me my security clearance needs to be clear.

Most probably you got picked for a security background check....and there is no timeframe for it to get completed. Just keep waiting.

got picked? does that mean some people don't go through security check and some get picked randomly?

No source....they don't publish these things on the CIC website...but based on some friend's experience, they pick some random sample for background check. They might have a criteria to identify the population they pick the sample from but of course I don't know these details. Criteria can be a combination of multiple things like your gender, your country of origin, your travel destinations, etc. but these are all guesses and nothing from a credible reliable source.

My guess is during the interview either the officer approves you or demands more checks ... which explains why people get DM same day and others within months
