Do we know when is the first round of invitations expected? Or is it too early to discuss.

IRCC closed the online form 1st Feb, 2018. Last year IRCC sent out the emails regret/invite on April 26, which is almost 3-month window...
Yeah, that was a nightmare. Got the rejection email on April 26th, and I was travelling to meet my parents on April 27th back home. IRCC timed it perfectly. I hope this year is lucky.

Much too early. Nobody has any clue.

mmmm, No one knows how CIC works. From the couple years of experienc while dealing with CIC, I can say, CIC is not answerable for a question "why the process in not clear or efficient or fast or so?"

How hard it is to write a computer program (or hire a programmer to write it) to sort out around 100, 000 rows containing numbers/name/address etc and weed out duplicates and just pick 10000 randomly. May be i am thinking something that does not exists yet? :(

Hi all, my first post here. Stumbled across this excellent forum by chance. I am trying my luck with parent lottery for 2nd time in a row, was not lucky last year. My father recently passed away, so my mom is left alone back home. Hope I am successful with the lottery this year. Good luck everyone!

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your father. Second time in the lottery for me as well. Hope we make it. Good luck!

Hi all,
I had applied last year and did not get selected. Lets hope this time we are lucky and get selected.
Btw any idea how long does it take to get PR for parents ? Any information from people who applied last year and submitted forms?

I want to sponsor my parents [ father + mother ]

my family = myself + my wife

I have 2 brothers= Both over 26 yrs , residing in Canada as permanent resident, live on their own income.

so, my parents have 3 sons altogether [ including me, all of them are already in Canada ]

Q 2. How many family members are currently in your family unit? :
>> Myself + Wife = 2

Q 3.Tell us the number of persons you want to sponsor and their family members. (required)

Count the number of parents and grandparents you want to sponsor AND their dependants (spouse or partner and dependent children). You must also include the dependants who will not come to Canada with your parents or grandparents.
>> ??? what number should I put here

> Please Help. Thanks
Showkat
so total is 4

Hi
Just wanted to ask a question about the MNI requirement.
Say there is a total family unit of 5 people [including 2 grandparents that are getting sponsored ]

MNI for family unit 5 is :
2017 : $67,400
2016 : $66,654
2015: $65,377
2014 : $64,791

For someone applying in Jan 2019
1) Will you check eligibility as per NoA for 2015,2016 and 2017 OR will it be 2016,2017,2018 [ assuming 2018 NoA is available by April 2019 when you send your complete application if invited ]
2) Should the income have been greater than 67,400 for each of the 3 years (2015-17) or just greater than the respective amount in each year [ 2015 income > 65,377 , 2016 income > 66,654 and 2017 income >67,400 ]

It would be great if someone could throw some light on this.

All the best to 2018 applicants !
Also, does anyone have any idea how many applications went in total this year till Feb 2nd ??

1.for 2018 applicants - NOA 2015-2017
I assume for 2019 applicants will be NOA 2016-2018 but we will know it just in the end of year.
2. if you dont want to worry about income always take a spouse like a co-signer, income should be = or more than LICO
