That's what I thought too initially, however I'm not sure anymore. Do you know if this is documented anywhere ?

It's right on the "Income Sources" form from application package:
https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5516e.pdf

Item (a) is your total income. Then you subtract items (b) through (f) as these sources of income do not qualify. Item {e} is regular EI payments, so they are deducted from LICO and do not count.

Thanks! I had a vivid memory of seeing this somewhere. My initial assumption was correct then.

@UPPI, here's your answer. As originally suggested, EI will need to be subtracted from your total income ... unfortunately.

I am still waiting for your responses guys. Can you please guide me if you know below;

I am sponsoring my parent and my 18 year- old brother as their dependant. I am sponserig them with my comm-law. So, Q2 i entered 2, Q3 I entered 3. Is this correct?
Also, for the last question it is asking to enter parents and grandparents information. Do I need to insert my brother (dependant child) as well?

You are correct in regards to family size. Also you only enter your parents name and not dependents.

Anyone here knows if selected what is the timeline for the rest of the process? IRCC still shows they working on PGP class files from 2014 but folks in the 2017 PGP thread reports MR after 3-4 months after AOR?

Nobody can possibly know how IRCC will proceed with 2018 apps.

True. It just strikes me how drastic the change in their process and timeline can be

Hi Experts, I need urgent advise. I want to apply for my mom and dad in this 2018 program and I do have enough for 2015,2016 and 2017 income with 3 family size. Right now I have family size of 3 (me + mom+dad) but this march I m getting married so then my family size will be 4. With family size 4 I don't have enough for 2015 and 2016 income. Is it good idea to apply in this 2018 program or shall I wait for nxt 2 years when I will have enough income for 4 ppl then apply. I can assume everyone case is different but anything can happen in future. somebody is getting married in near future and somebody is expecting a baby soon so this family size is little confusing for me. how cic is actually counting the family size for income. Please advise experts. It would be great if someone can forward me any written cic report that explain how they count family size. thanks

The 2018 application package has not been released yet, so nobody can say for sure. But if they do it the same as they have the past several years, the family size you'll need for past 3 years is family size as of date you submit the application. So if you get married in March and haven't yet submitted the app, you'd need to use family size of 4 in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
If they change the wording in the financial evaluation form to indicate family size as of date you submitted the lottery form, then it will be a different story (although I highly doubt this will happen).

Note that if you do get married but don't meet income for family size of 4 in 2016... you'll need to meet it in 2017, 2018 and 2019 to possibly apply to lottery in 2020.

Also if your new spouse is a PR or citizen and has Canadian income for past 3 years, they can be added as a co-signer and add their income.

Hello Everyone

I am new to this thread/forum and it is nice to see people answering each other's questions. I have two questions and would appreciate an answer/advice. Thank you in advance.

- What complications are there with sponsoring just one parent? When can the applicant (assuming his application is among the ones selected) provide reasons for doing so? (From reading some of the earlier responses) the non-accompanying parent would also have to undergo medical examination.

-What are some of the potential reasons an application (with this scenario) could be rejected?

I have a very urgent question. I have my common law partner to meet the income requirement. He has two NOAs for 2015. One is personal, and the other is for his numbered company in which it is used for his self employment purposes. When it comes to filing the PGP application to identify income source, both NOA can be considered? Or The immigration authorities accept personal income only based on line 150 of the Notice of Assessment?
