Would there be a thoroughly investigation and even a chance to revoke her mon's PR? Yes, definitely. But there isn't any legal issue to reconcile and remarry. And there isn't any law to bar her mom to file the application. And if they can provide required evidences to satisfy the VO, then an approval is inevitable. Although I don't support this kind of behavior, but as long as it is legal, it is fine, is it?
There is no law preventing the woman from re-marrying and sponsoring her spouse but as Rob has said, IRCC would most definitely term it a "Divorce of Convenience" done specifically to circumvent the Excessive Demand rule and refuse the sponsorship app.

Thanks, really appreciated!!
Hi,
I am working in Canada since Feb 2015. I am meeting all the minimum income requirements except T4 requirement of 2014/2015/2016. I will be getting my third T4 in Feb 2018. Am I still eligible to apply or should I wait for another year.?

One of the reply I got was:

You dont need 2014. Requirement is 2015, 2016, 2017 Every one will be getting T4 in Feb 2018... But they dont need T4 they require NOA which you get after you file your tax return. It is fine you are eligible to apply if you have 2015,2016,2017
However,
When I started filling forms, One of the forms "5516 E" says, you must provide income source information for 2016,2015 and 2014. I am really getting confused whether I should proceed with the application or should wait for another year. Please suggest.

Also, I would like to get information on fees we need to deposit at the time of submitting an application or its when we get the letter of acceptance. If I have to deposit the fees now, how much is the fees? Is it 1070 CAD dollar for both parent or 1070 CAD dollar for each. So, if I am submitting my application for both mom and dad, I need to deposit 2140 CAD dollars.?

There are no "forms" to fill out yet as 2018 app package has not been released. You are looking at 2017 program forms.

The only thing you need to fill out now is the intent to sponsor web-form, which clearly states 2015, 2016 and 2017 incomes will be required to sponsor in 2018.

What forms are you filling? The 2018 PGP forms haven't been released yet. The interest to apply forms do not have 2014 in it...

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/sponsor-parents-grandparents/tell-us-you-want-sponsor-parent-grandparent.html

After you submit the interest to sponsor form
After February 1, we’ll review the submissions and remove duplicate entries. We’ll randomly select and invite potential sponsors to apply to sponsor their parents and grandparents.

If you’re invited to apply
  • You have until the deadline specified in your invitation to send us your complete application package.
  • If you don’t send us your application by the specified deadline, you won’t be able to apply again this year.
If you’re not invited to apply
  • You’ll have the opportunity to show your interest to sponsor your parents and grandparents again in 2019.
  • If you want your parents or grandparents to visit you in Canada for an extended period of time, you also have the option to apply for a super visa.

I think WE DONOT NEED TO SEND THEM FILLED APPLICATION TILL WE GET invitation letter FROM THEM

Hi All,

I have a question regarding Income Requirements in parents & grandparents sponsorship 2018.
I am a PR & Single. I want to sponsor my parents.
I have sufficient income for 2015 & 2016.

However, in 2017 i lost my job & was on EI for 6 months. For 2017, my Income is 38,000 & i collected 12,000 as EI.
Now, does EI qualify as income? I am referring to form IMM 5516E.
What will be my available income?

a. 38,000 + 12,000 = 50,000?
or
b. 38,000 - 12,000 = 26,000?

Please help me determine this? I appreciate all responses/help in advance.

Thanks & Regards.

Edited. Ignore my response. It's not clear to me whether it should be income or not. Not enough material online that suggests so.

I want to sponsor my parents [ father + mother ]

my family = myself + my wife

I have 2 brothers= Both over 26 yrs , residing in Canada as permanent resident, live on their own income.

so, my parents have 3 sons altogether [ including me, all of them are already in Canada ]

Q 2. How many family members are currently in your family unit? :
>> Myself + Wife = 2

Q 3.Tell us the number of persons you want to sponsor and their family members. (required)

Count the number of parents and grandparents you want to sponsor AND their dependants (spouse or partner and dependent children). You must also include the dependants who will not come to Canada with your parents or grandparents.
>> ??? what number should I put here

> Please Help. Thanks

2. Your mother and your father. You are sponsoring them

Your brothers are not dependants and they are already PRs and you are not sponsoring them.

It's pretty straightforward

IMO, EI (unless for maternity leave) does not count as income, so you will need to subtract it unfortunately.
EI should count as other income as you are required to report it and you do pay taxes on it.
