Hi All,

I have been invited to apply for PR under Express Entry. I need your expert advice on one of the questions under "Work History" section in online application.

Its about the date I first became qualified to practice in my primary occupation.

I started my career 10 years ago as an IT consultant and now I am Software Test Manager (since 2014). My primary occupation is listed under NOC: 0213 but code for my previous occupation is 2171 (IT consultant). The minimum education required to practice for 0213 code is a bachelor degree in computer science which I completed in 2007. My question is, should I put my bachelor's graduation date as the date I first became qualified to practice in the primary occupation, or should I put the date when I actually started the job as Test Manager?

Any inputs are much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I have the same query regarding the date first became qualified to practice in my occupation.

I am a graduate of Computer Science last 2004, started my career immediately after graduation. My primary occupation is under 0114 from January 5, 2013 til date (5 years), NOC 1241 from Oct 2009 to Nov 2012, October 2009 backwards, are related to IT.

As per the NOC 0114, some employment requirements are:
  • A bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration or a related administrative services field is usually required.
  • Several years of experience at a professional level in business administration, finance or administrative services are usually required.
Since I dont have a degree in business administration, what will be the correct answer to the question first became qualified to practice in my occupation? At first, I answered 2013 January when I started practicing as manager, but as per careful checking, maybe its not the case? can you please let me know your opinion?

You became eligible on the date of your graduation. Good Luck!
Also, regarding my Educational Background, I have a WES evaluation stating that my secondary does not have canadian equivalency, but i have 4 years bachelor's degree. in this case, do i still need to add my secondary school details? or my bachelor's degree will suffice?

Thanks in advance.
