Hello,

My spouse has a visitor visa with expiry on Nov. 2019. She came to Canada last June, should she leave after 6 months, or getting out of the borders, or is it OK to stay here while her status is still valid.

Thanks.

Assuming CBSA did not stamp her passport with a specific leave by date then 6 month default applies. However to stay any longer she needs to apply to extend stay as a visitor so if she arrived in June should apply now.. The expiry date of her visa is an authorisation to travel to Canada and not an authorisation to stay for any specific period

Thanks a lot for your answer.

But the document she got on arrival mentions in the conditions "Must leave Canada by 2019/11/30". Does this mean the 6-month period doesn't apply for this case?

So is she here because you have a work permit or study permit so the visa is tied to your stay ?
I have a study permit, yes I think the visa is tied to my stay. But, I wasn't sure if she should leave after only 6 months or it is OK to stay.
