No but you need to explain source of funds. However, you are required to maintain it from application till you get PR.
Just a small addition, you need to keep proof of funds until your landing. It´s part of the landing checklist package.

Sometimes you aren´t even required to show POF at landing, but you should have it ready if requested.

Guys. I know many people have asked about this. When can we expect OINP to resume?.
If their thread is similar to 2016, not anymore this year.

HCP closed in may 2016 and only reopened early february this year. I´m already working on an ECA update now that I´ve finally finished my post-graduate IT program and probably an IELTS re-sit to try six more points and hopefully reach 425+ (I can max out 434 outland and without french until july 2018). One can hope HCP still reopens this year, but I´m not very optimistic, to be honest.

Darling its not like that..as after keeping the hcp on hold also they have issued noi to many people so there are high hopes that they ll reopen soon.
So stay positive and let the ray of light spread to all corners.
I hope being positive will create miracles.

OINP has only sent NOIs to the french speaking stream since july 25, which takes very few people, to be honest. One with NCLC 7 and CLB 5 gets an automatic 30 point boost since june 6, so a competent french speaking person will be much more likely to get a straight ITA than having to resort to OINP. That´s basically the main reason I´m studying french - too bad Brazil has only three TEF dates, unlike TCF or DELF/DALF. For that reason, I have to be very cautious about choosing my test date for french.

They´re clearly focusing on receiving job offer candidates and clearing their HCP backlog, so we´ll only know for sure if they´re reopening after they clear such backlog and there are nominations left. They were at 1/3 of their quota as of august 9, so I have serious doubts they might reopen the HCP stream, and if they do, looking by the little nominations they´ll have by then (my bet is that their quota will be under 1500 next month), the probability of opening and closing the intake in 24-48 hours like it happens in other PNPs is VERY high.

For now, the best you can do is keep pinging their update page and stay sharp.

I am getting all nervous now!
I have CRS 403, NOC 2171, EE created: 2 weeks back! So OINP was closed by then since was waiting for WES
With ITA quota reaching soon, Do I see any hope of OINP stream opening again?
have one more IELTS attempt, so I need to get CLB 9 so my score jumps to 472 potentially
Honestly IELTS is also getting tougher compared to when I took it previously. That is my best hope to crack and get CLB 9
Any insights?

Work HARD your english.

By the prospect, you´re young, so you have time and energy to keep trying.

My peak is already having CLB 10, since I´m 37. My only possibilites to reach farther are either having B2 french or routing temporarily to Canada, but the latter will be very costly, since I´m not WHV eligible.

Those are some of the IELTS sources I´ve used to study for the test. Focus more on test structure than the language itself, specially for listening and reading. For speaking and writing you´ll have to sharpen your english skills though. Good luck!

Thanks bud!
I somehow feel difficulty in Reading section mostly especially passage reading and I often commit mistakes.
Fingers crossed! I am late to apply or else would have got NOI for OINP if I had applied back in June :(

My personal tips for Reading:

Jump to the answers, and then look for the text sections which answer the questions. You can do that in sections 1 and 2.

You can´t presume answers for IELTS. If you have to do so, it´s ALWAYS NOT GIVEN. Differently from many tests we´re used to do, answers are only TRUE or FALSE in IELTS when you can directly find them in the text. If it doesn´t existe in the text, it´ll be always NOT GIVEN.

Key words in IELTS are never direct. They always focus on synonyms. They´re testing your lexical resource and vocabulary by doing this. For this reason, always pinch key words while reading to help with your answers. You´ll reduce your mistakes with that.

Good luck!

Yes, I am in SG now. I am successful in using my ITA to apply for my COC.

Your wife also needs to apply for her COC. I suggest you try to apply using your ITA and write an appeal that she is your dependent and she'll be accompanying you to Canada. Provide documents to prove your relationship like marriage cert.

If your appeal is not successful you can proceed to submit your eAPR and upload a document that states: “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from IRCC to get a police certificate.”

The e-Appeal to COC approval will only take less than a week or so. Wait for the result of eAppeal then decide when will you take your medicals. You can get an appointment with the clinic within a week or even in 2 days.

For the POF, I will upload these:
1) Six months bank statements - I had requested my bank (OCBC) to resume sending me the hard copy since March, although the online bank statement is also in letterhead.

2) Bank certificate - it states the opening date and the current balance (or 6-months average balance if your bank can provide it). OCBC calls this reference letter. I already got 2 of this since March and I will get an updated bank cert a week before I submit my eAPR.

3) Latest statements for all my credit cards or loans if you have (I don't have loans).

4) I will also try to get credit history from CBS or Credit Bureau Singapore. I checked the website it costs $6 only. I haven't seen one though so I don't know if it will be relevant.
@iamxty , i have just submitted appeal for COC. waiting...
Should i do the same for wife separately ? I see in my application, there is a mention of spouse, but no details were asked like Name/FIN etc..

Please advise.

Oh, I am not sure about that, I am single. But I guess you have to have another appeal for her since she has a separate FIN. You can reference your e-Appeal with her application.

So what exactly did they close in may 2016? Issuing new NOI's or accepting new applications online? Keep in mind that now even those who received NOI's cannot apply, as the website does not allow that.

By that time, they halted both (HCP NOI issuing and HCP registration), just like now.
