I got the email from NDVO this morning.
Our app was received on Nov 22 2016 and they started processing in Jan 2017

Not sure what their email really means as it's confusing when they say we will start working.

If anyone shares the same experience please reply

Also, if you know how much time it would take after this email for those who already received their PPR.

We got this email as well today. Jan 4th 2017 applicant, PA file processing began on Feb 6th 2017.

And, started processing her application on January 30, 2017.

Congratulations! Our case is quite similar as yours.
App recvd on Oct 25, Medical expired in March. So, basing it on your timelines, we should expect re-medical request soon and then hopefully by mid June, we should get PPR.
