Hi
I just want to give some update on our spousal sponsorship + rehab application which was submitted on august 6, 2024. Today i got an additional docs request for police clearance certificate from a country where misrepresentation crime happened . However i already post them docs subsequently after online submission. I think now i need to call ircc and let them that i have already send original pcc through mail to Mississauga office.
May I know what sort of crime was for that you are applying for criminal rehabilitation
Bcz I have submitted spousal sponsorship for my wife and she has misrepresentation ban from usa , do i also need to get criminal rehabilitation?
btw i have declared ban in spousal application

Misrepresentation bans are basically not considered criminal charges, just administrative.

We submitted the PR and CR applications together on August 2nd. Still waiting for AOR.
Hi
Did you get any updates? My husband applied for CR in NY consulate on July 2023 and no updates until now. Also he applied for PR on Feb 2023. And when I asked for GCMS notes for the PR application they say they are waiting for CR to finalize the PR application. So I requested GCMS for the CR but did not receive it yet

No updates on the CR application and the PR application was last updated November 19th. Progress to date is in my signature. The wait is excruciating and I feel like our lives are in limbo. I hope you get some good news soon!

My husband submitted his on August 2/24, still waiting. From the research I have done it looks to be about 22 months, sadly.
Thank you for your prompt reply. May I kindly ask you to let me know if you receive an AOR or any other confirmation letter indicating that they have received this application?

We submitted it together with our PR application and have received an AOR for the PR, but we have not yet received any updates regarding the CR.

I will keep you updated for sure. We never received an AOR for the CR either, just the PR. But the PR has progressed to the point of Biometrics and Medical Complete + Eligibility and Background In Progress. I will apply for GCMS notes in August if there is no more updates by then (that will be the one year mark).

We submitted PR December 2023, got the notification we needed criminal rehab in April 2024, submitted everything May 2024, and now crickets.

They marked a few things complete in the PR tracker in October 2024, but nothing else.

I don't know if I should try to remove my husband from my PR app, apply on my own, and then sponsor him if/when his CR is approved??

I don't want to miss out on my opportunity to live in Canada if I wait too long for his CR to be approved

We have also received updates regarding biometrics, medical, eligibility, and background check - in progress.

Have you tried submitting a request for GCMS notes?

I think that your husband’s inadmissibility would make you inadmissible as well so I don’t think you can remove him and apply on your own. I think you need to wait for the CR to be approved. If I am wrong hopefully someone will correct me.

You cannot remove him in your application. You can put him as non-accompanying but he still needs to be admissible for your application to be approved.

Can anyone explain if there is a difference in processing times for CR applications submitted inside and outside Canada?
