December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

I received fingerprint email on feb 19 but tracker is not updated yet. Not even request for fingerprint. I only received email. Fingerprint given on Feb 20.
I am checking everyday with an hour interval and it is affecting my productivity at work as I am starting overthinking about my application will get delayed. The BG is still in progress for my wife and me and no update. We have a travel plan in December this year to go back home and I got constant thinking of application, anxiety that application will get delayed.
It is so strange that some people are getting within 3 months and we are in waiting game. The person applied in Jan are getting test with dec applicant and BG is also getting cleared. My file is straight forward with only 2 month travel to back home in last 5 year. So frustrating

It looks like most applicants that receive finger print requests have their file at Vancouver office specifically.
I feel you. I cant say my performance at work isn’t being affected either but there is no need to let it spiral completely out of control. After giving fingerprints, it takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks for your background check to complete so your timeline seems to make sense at this point in time. Don’t stress.

Hi , I gave my citizenship test about two weeks ago and I passed but did not update yet on tracker , anyone know about this
The number of years living in Canada and amount of travel makes no difference most of the time. Citizenship applications come with deep and hefty background checks and security checks (prohibitions). Think about it...we are applying to become part of a country, so they must make sure we are all clear. And unfortunately, if you come from a country where names may be similar and security information is not readily available, it will take time. The fingerprints are to clear someone.
I know it is a stressful process, but try to distract yourself from thinking about it. You have no control over the process, so worrying and stressing won't make a difference. As long as you know your info is good and you have nothing to hide, you will get it. And December is a long way away. I am confident you will be a citizen before then.

There is nothing to hide, its just I don't wanted to apply but I just applied for citizenship based on my friends told me that they got it in 4--6 months and after I apply I checked in this forum there are people from Dec 2023 also waiting. That's why I got this overrhinking and thought that it will ruin my travel. Anyways thanks for you help. Lets hope for the best and I wish good luck to everyone who are in the same boat.
Same, did mine on the 17th, and still says "Waiting on you". Seems like others saw it move to complete within 4 days.

1. Read Discover Canada (Long Version) Twice – Spend the first two days reading it through without trying to memorize every detail, just get familiar with the content.

2. Practice with the Canadian Citizenship 2025 App by Reev Tech Inc – Over the next two days, go through the first 300 questions. This will reinforce what you read.
3. Use the Richmond Public Library Practice Questions – Solve 152 questions from this site

4. Final Prep on CitizenshipSupport.ca – Spend the last two days doing all their practice questions. Their interface is very similar to the real exam and their questions are excellent.
