I have been a PR for 15 years and never gave biometrics. I did give my FBI clearance for PR application and now for citizenship because I've been back and forth between US and Canada these past 15 years.

Were you asked to get fingerprints this time? (Or perhaps as part of the fbi clearance?)
Yeah, I'm a US citizen so I didn't really have a burning desire. I just got tired of renewing the PR card and the CBSA border agents constantly asking me when I'd apply for citizenship lol
No, BG cleared without fingerprints.
FBI clearance was done in the States - i drove across the border and did it. It cost me $50 vs the $200+ i would have paid doing it from the GTA. All IRCC got was a certificate stating I have no record.

so my mother applied november there was missing info so didnt get aor until late December. so im basing her progress with December applicants. She got that Send additional info request On her tracker in december then we sent the missing info.
after verifying that info got a GU jan 20
and BG updated to complete.
she is 55 so no language|test needed
she hasnt been out the country in over 5 years either
No legal troubles too lol
on the tracker its still got the warning. i assumed the message would disappear after but it hasnt.

no email or mail sent to her though.

So the process is still the same. If BG isn't marked complete before test invite or 2 to 3 days after test invite, then applicant will most likely get a fingerprint request.
At least you are moving forward. Get it done quickly.
The GU was probably for the background check and IRCC hasn't fully reviewed what you sent it. Once an officer has reviewed and gone through your Mom's application, that note will disappear and LPP will be updated. It will take a few weeks to a month for all that, so don't get frustrated.
yes im not sure if it will cause delay, even my yest not yet updated. at least my daughter BG is completed already but test not yet and my husband test is also updated but needs fingerprint request. yeah i want it to be done soon so anxiety will be over soon too. thank you
