Hi Everyone. I am new to this forum and would be going though previous posts. But would appreciate if someone can just give a rough estimate on how much time it can take between ADR and COPR (Submitted: 27th July,2024>ADR request on 27th Dec,2024>ADR submitted 23rd Jan,2025).
Could be anywhere from months to years. Many have to repeat medicals it takes so long. PGP is not known as a fast process.

Anyone heard anything who applied in July? I was invited last year and applied in July 28. It says in their website between 8-12months this whole process will take. Still no response of any sort. Wondering is it normal or not. I also saw someone in this forums said, its first come first serve and if thats the case and quota gets full and those who applied late like July end even though all good will get rejected? That would be heartbreaking after waiting since 2020 if get rejected now due to quota !!

hey all, I have applied for my parents PR 2024 as her number was selected in the draw . My income qualifies for last 3 years (2021,2022,2023) . However in 2024 (I will be filing taxes soon) my income is low (30Konly ) as i got laid off most of 2024 will this disqualify me? I got a job in Nov 2024 but my net income for FY 2024 is very bad.

Will IRCC check my 2024 return? will this impact my mothers PR application?

I would call IRCC and check. They told me to wait as processing time is 2 years but they confirmed nothing is expected out of me at this time. I am waiting for IRCC to come back with a reply.

They could check. IRCC can request you to provide proof of your income until the application is completed.

This will disqualify you as sponsor if they check. You could have find other source of income to increase your income for 2024. But it's too late now.

I had a similar question for my colleague- he has his job till date and qualifies on T4. However, he had massive loss on stocks (almost 80% his income) in 2024. Will he be qualified as a sponsor? Since we both are not aware of the capital gain/loss part on taxes, will his T4 job keep him qualified.

I believe capital lost can be filed in future year instead of the actual year. Talk to an accountant if your colleague is not sure.

You can claim the loss on any of your three previous tax years or in any future years. If you apply the loss to a previous year, it’s called a carryback and can be processed without filing a brand-new tax return.

I am on the same page. As per ircc sponser has to meet all the requirement until they make decisions. I am not filing taxes until Sep (CRA won't bother you until Sep for 2024 taxes) and hopefully by that time ircc would complete the process of our applications.

But filing due date for taxes is April 30. Why red flag your file.

Capital loss can be applied against taxable capital gains only, and it cannot be applied to other sources of income. So your gross income wont have any effect on line 150. You should be fine.

Add some Self-employement dollars to T1 return. It will extend your deadline to June 15. Just pay off if you owe any taxes for 2024 by June 15 or April 30 if you are not self employed and dont file until September (make sure your getting refund so no penalty or interest).

Yes filing and paying your balance for 2024 are two seprate things. Asses the taxes with your accountant and pay off the balances if you owe any and then file later by Sep if you dont get copr by then

That would be fast processing these days so wouldn’t count on your plan.
