Hi,

In India, live-in relationship is not common and 99% of the couple dont live together until married. While applying for my PR, I did not disclose any relationship because we never stayed together and hence we did not meet common-law partner criteria. Now I'm worried if our spouse sponsorship will be rejected. Please share thoughts.

Note: We both are from different faith and got married recently.

and why exactly are you worried that? because you never stayed together?? it's not a mandatory requirement
as long as you proved to spend a fair amount of physical relationship before marriage, you will be fine

Hello, I applied for inland on Jan 23. I didn’t receive any AOR yet but when I logged into my tracker account created for my TRV, I can also see spousal application listed there with an application number starting with F. I also linked with my gc key using application number. As of now bio and background are in progress in tracker.

Does that mean my application went to next stage? Do you know if it can be returned at this point for not being complete. And tracker lastly updated on Feb 7. Thanks!

I noticed at least 2 people from this forum said the same thing about being able to track/see progress without receiving AOR

Some information I saw online that people suggested if IRCC has asked for additional document pior to AOR, you'll likely not getting an AOR letter. Which my case is they asked for additional payment for BIO (which we had paid upfront not sure why they rejected the application and asked again). When I try to search the application in GC Key with Applicant's first name and last name, still no result. Applied Jan 15th inland and I saw people applied 16th and 21st has received their AOR letter already. A bit fustrated.

Hi there, just a quick question because I've seen so many different answers and I'm curious if anyone has recommendations or can relate somehow. I will be submitting the Common-Law inland sponsorhip application soon, my partner is the Canadian and I'm from the States. I live 1 hr and 45 min from the border and before coming into Canada two years ago, I had moved 3 hours from that same border crosspoint.

Coming here, I brought my essentials (just came as a visitor)- some clothes, my computer/gaming systems and electronics, and my pupper. It's a small crossing and they were very familiar with me so they just let me through and didn't ask for me to declare anything.

I have a storage unit 3 hours away, and since it's been two years, we feel like it's time to go get the rest of my belongings. After I submit the inland Common law Sponsorship form, Would I be able to go cross over back into the States with my partner, get a UHAUL and come back with all my things to declare within a few days (we would be gone 2 days max since) ?

**I still have my visitor visa that doesn't expire til May 2025 but we will be submitting this with the PR within the next few days.

You've been here almost two years - have you been extending your visa and the like? I.e. are you currently in status, unambiguously?

It's a bit hard to guess how CBSA will react. Personally I'd wait until you get the PR status, that's when you'd definitely be allowed to. (Up until then - well, you basically have no right to bring stuff in except usual 'personal use.')

There is a chance you'd get away with it if you waited until you got the AOR or approval in principle. But basically you should wait.

I know it seems a long time but hey - two years in country before you submitted the app?

Short answer is no. You cannot bring all of your belongings in until you have PR. As of now you only have visitor status in Canada. Trying to bring all of your stuff now is quite risky and can sometimes result in refused entry. Leave your stuff in storage until after your PR application is approved.

Thanks

But there is no error in PR tracker website , its only on GC key website
My point is not which specific systems: Tuesday ams are when they have scheduled system maintenance. It's supposed to be early morning (EST), but sometimes things happen. Assume any systems not working Tuesday morning are due to some kind of system maintenance and try later.

Yup! I have been extending my visitor visa and each time its been approved and I have not had any time where its been expired.
Yeah unfortunately life just has been crazy! I have a remote job so that hasnt been an issue and then on top of that, whats left in my storage is not necessity so waiting might seem like the right choice.

That sounds about right and what I was worried about. Thanks for the advice!
