I applied for TRV after receiving The AOR. Today we were asked for biometric fee to be paid in 5 days. But I had said on our Trv application that my spouse did biometric for a previous TRV only 9 months (supposed to be valid for 10 years)

Is there anywhere we can call or explain the situation to bypass this, or we have no choice?

All PR applicants have to provide biometrics, even if provided before.

hey thanks

So Can I apply for outland common-law sponsorship since my status in Canada is expiring soon?

And we have completed the threshold of 1 year common law union
You need to withdraw the inland application before you apply outland. The outland application does not give you status in Canada so if you plan to remain in Canada for any period of time after your status expires, you will need to apply for a visitor record.

Thanks. If we are still waiting for spousal BIL/MIL and we do the TRV BIL/MIL, do we have to do each twice? I ask because the closest city to a VAC for my wife is 3 hours away.
I presume that you would need to if you do them for the TRV but can't say for sure. Therefore I'd suggest waiting until you get the BIL at least for the PR. I'm much more confident that the biometrics taken for PR will serve for the TRV.

To be clear, I think the medicals would be acceptable for both either way.

Ah ok. Unfortunately I already submitted the application for TRV and they already sent me a notice for BIL that I have to pay within 5 days and show receipt

Helloo, I'm currently in a sticky situation. I'm trying to double-check what documents are absolutely necessary for spousal sponsorship. What government documents could prove the same address? We both live at the same address but he sends his mail to his mom (she visits a lot) since our mailbox is shared with neighbors. I'm also wondering if biometrics are required since I am a US citizen. This is pretty urgent since my visitor record expires in a month, I'm just also wondering if I should just get an extension since we only have 50 days to finish the sponsorship. Thanks!

-Usual stuff. If you're not trying to demonstrate common law, address is not usually a big issue, as long as clear you basically do live together (i.e. for inland). Show what you can, basically.
-Biometrics: yes, required for US citizen, but you only do them after you apply and are sent a biometrics instruction letter by IRCC anyway.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just one last question, we have lived at the address he sends his mail to, so should I just include documents showing both addresses and just add a letter of explanation just in case?

I'm not sure if I understand. I believe you both provide address histories, chronologically, so - do that. If you mean providing more than one address for a given period of time - no; pick a principal address. If you need to explain something more, sure - but try not to complicate things.

MEdical is cleared, but , since Oct 30 2024 eligibility and background verification is showing as "In Progress" . Does it take that long time? PA is in India. Sponsor Citizen. Legally married with 16 yrs of relationship proof.
Outland submitted Dec 2023. Same here, biometrics, eligibility (Oct) and medical (July) completed, Background in progress since October 2024. Received update 2 days ago that Background verification status has been updated to In progress. I am not what this means?

Any update from you?

Hi
I have CoPR and ESTA (non visa).
Two questions, if anyone can help.
1 Can I visit Canada for a few days but not 'land' (daughter's uni graduation ceremony)?
2 Can I arrive and formally 'land' on my own even though my application was outland spousal sponsorship? Or must we both arrive together? Wife intends to relocate to Canada but has commitments in her current job that will keep her overseas for a few months.
