Hi,
Anybody has recently applied for oci from Ontario? What's the approximate time taken processing? The bls officer told 2 months. Is that accurate?
Also can I simultaneously apply for evisa if I need to travel to India for a month?

OCI 15 din main naa milega...
It does take about 2 months...
if immediate travel is required then eVisa is the best option, both can be applied in parallel and one has no bearing over the other...

The Purolator tracking number is not there at the BLS website. IS there any other way to find it?

The reference number starting with CAN... was the tracking number for me and it showed up in Purolator tracking and it also got delivered today. Thanks though! Good luck everyone

Hi Members,
I have an existing OCI card. My passport got renewed recently and when I tried to update the passport details on OCI miscellaneous services, I came to know about this new requirements of Voter ID and Ration card surrender declaration form. I don't know the status of these documents as I am living in Canada for more than 15 years. I am travelling to India in couple of weeks. I am afraid if I start this document cancellation process now, it might take time and hence I can't confidently declare and sign the form that they have been cancelled. My question is that can I travel to India with my OCI card, old passport and new passport without submitting this declaration form? I will check with authorities and start this cancellation process once I am in India.

Your advice is much appreciated here. Anyone who travelled recently without submitting this form whose Canadian passport got renewed?

As rule of thumb, when I visited in person BLS officer asked to make sure all the documents are uploaded online.

They mentioned to upload Canada related docs under foreign passport section and indian govt related docs under indian origin. So,

Foreign passport section - Foreign passport + Citizenship certificate + Address Proof
Indian origin - Indian passport + Surrender certificate + Ration card declaration form
Employment Letter

If you check BLS checklist under note section (5):

5. All copies of documents as mentioned above must be self- attested and also uploaded online.

Hi All, need one input. I am applying OCI for minor (Canada born, 4 months old). Have my appointment tomorrow. On voter Id related declaration form, it says - signature of the applicant. Can both parents sign it on that form and upload it? Or do we need thumb impression of the baby as well? Also, do we need to mention the voter Id/number of both parents on this declaration form? Please let me know. Thank You!

It's BLS account, does not hold much value. Use your daughter's info as security may not let you in with conflicting details.

I am getting below error message when I try to fill the form 7 on Voters service portal. I have also filled the form 8 to update/change the mobile number but no luck.

"User does not have Epic No. in his/her profile . Cannot proceed to Form7 / Form6B."

Please help on how to resolve this.

I have recently updated my phone number using Form 8 online and the status says EROLL_UPDATED. When I try to download my eEPIC also it shows my correct phone number as XXXXXXX09 but, when I try to add the EPIC number in the Profile section, it still shows up the old phone number ending as XXXXXX17 and OTP is sent to the old phone number which I don't have.

Error says Mobile number in Eroll is different from Profile section.

Does anyone know how I can add my EPIC number to my profile?
