Dear
@Miss bee, I need your help:
We are a family of 5. I am the principal applicant for PR application.
3 of us are outside Canada, while my 2 daughters are in Canada, studying
we got final decision on the 27th of September 2024, and received P1 for 2 of my daughters in Canada on the 3rd of Oct , for which we replied to the email with the Template given.
We received same email again about 6 weeks later for my 2 daughters still with same template and replied same day
Meanwhile, for us outside Canada, we are yet to get PPR. In the tracker, we can see our COPR document number since 3rd of Oct.
Now today, we have received same P1 mail again for the 3rd time for my daughters. This time, they said we are receiving the letter as we have not responded to the initial email communication.
I am confused. Is there something I am missing out? that I am supposed to do and have not done?
Also can P2 for my daughters progress without me the main applicant landing in Canada?
Please help , I am really confused
I want to get it right this time
Thank you
It seems like you’re dealing with a situation that requires careful handling to avoid further delays or miscommunication with IRCC.
1. Repeated P1 Emails for Your Daughters
• Since you’ve responded to the P1 emails each time using the given template, the fact that you are receiving the email again suggests that IRCC may not have registered or processed your previous responses.
• Possible reasons:
• IRCC’s system didn’t correctly associate your response with the P1 request.
• There may be an issue with how the email was sent or formatted (e.g., missing attachments, incorrect subject line).
• IRCC’s automated system may not have flagged the responses as received.
What to do now:
• Resend your response immediately. Ensure the following:
• Use the exact subject line as indicated in the P1 email template.
• Reply directly to the email address provided, without altering the format.
• Attach all required documents, such as a copy of the P1 letter and any other requested items.
• Include a clear explanation in your email body:
“This is our third time replying to this P1 email. We previously responded on [dates of previous replies]. Please confirm receipt of this response and let us know if anything further is required.”
• If possible, CC the webform or any alternative IRCC contact (use IRCC’s webform to explain the situation and attach your response)
• Follow up via the IRCC Webform:
• Go to the
IRCC webform and submit a case-specific inquiry. Explain the issue, reference your UCI and application number, and attach copies of your P1 response(s).
2. Why Haven’t You Received PPR for Applicants Outside Canada?
• It’s unusual that your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) number is visible in the tracker but you haven’t received the Passport Request (PPR). This could indicate:
• Your application is approved but pending final steps due to administrative delays.
• IRCC may be waiting for confirmation of your daughters’ statuses as part of the principal application process.
• There could be a communication or technical error in IRCC’s system.
What to do:
• Raise a Webform Inquiry:
• Use the webform to specifically inquire about the status of your PPR. Mention that the COPR number is already visible in the tracker and ask for clarification about the delay.
• Check Your Communication Settings:
• Ensure you’re checking the email inbox and spam/junk folders for the email associated with your application.
3. Can P2 for Your Daughters Progress Without You Landing in Canada?
• No, the principal applicant (you) must land first to activate the PR for dependents, whether they are in or outside Canada. IRCC will not finalize their PR process until you’ve completed the landing process.
• Your daughters may have received the P1 as they are inside Canada, but their P2 (Confirmation of Permanent Residence approval) will remain on hold until you land and activate your PR status.
4. Steps to Ensure Everything is on Track
• For Your Daughters’ P1:
• Resend the response following the guidelines above.
• Use the webform for additional follow-up
• For Your PPR:
• Use the webform to inquire about your application status and COPR.
• Consider contacting IRCC via phone (if possible) to escalate the situation and clarify any pending issues.
• Document Everything:
• Keep records of all communications (emails sent, webform submissions, etc.).
• Ensure that all UCI numbers and application numbers are referenced in every communication.
