Indian passport surrender

Hey all,

I live in Quebec City and my zip code comes under Toronto Jurisdiction. However, Toronto is very far for an in-person SC/OCI application and I want to make sure that my application is accepted so I am not interested in postal applications.

Is it possible to submit my application to the Montreal/Ottawa BLS office (under Ottawa jurisdiction)? Has anyone tried to apply in a different jurisdiction that is convenient to them? Please let me know.

Anyone recently did surrender in Alberta? How much time it is taking to get the surrender certificate?

I submitted my passport surrender application at BLS Brampton. Status changed to “Processing at the Consulate General” on October 02.
But still I couldn’t track it on embassy site. Its says "Entered Application reference number can not be tracked"
is it normal? how much time it takes to see some status on embassy site?

Thank you @Rishab mehta for the updates. Also, in your case, when you were able to first track the status on embassy site after submission OR after BLS says "“Processing at the Consulate General” "? I mean, any status such as in-Progress etc.. on embassy site..

yes it was saying Processing at the Consulate General/embassay

One last question, were you able to see this status as soon as BLS submitted application to consulate? OR did it take a week to see this status on embassy site? Thank you.

It took two-three day to update once is submitted the application.

Purolator delivered my postal application for SC on Oct-2.
However, I don't see anything when I track on BLS website.
How long does it usually take to see application status in BLS. Does BLS send any acknowledge mail once application is opened? I haven't received any yet.

You need to call BLS and book the same. They might then give you an option to pay online or share the fee amount to create a DD.
