Hi All,

I have an important question. I filed my non express entry PNP application and I received the portal email where they ask for certain information and ask to reply to the email. I don't know if that is portal 1 or portal 2 email. My concern is with the questions: "Are you currently inside Canada? (Yes/No):"

My work permit expired in march this year and I had to move back to India due to a family emergency and planning to go back when I get the PR. The issue is I do have a TRV visa but I dont have any work permit or study permit or any other status document. I read somewhere that IRCC issues some document for spouse and other dependants of applicants. But I am the main applicant and I had valid status when I applied. I had to move out because of family emergency and also my AOR came late than my work permit expiry.

I would really appreciate if someone can clarify if me not being in Canada will be a major issue or if I can just visit with my TRV to get the PR card or if IRCC will issue me that temporary travel document. Could it be possible that this becomes a blocker in my PR?

Also if you know by when I should expect next email or if this email from IRCC confirms my PR, please let me know. Thanks a lot in advance!
If you moved back to india and don’t have visa to travel back to Canada, you were supposed to change your address with CIC . You should answer No to that question and ask them to update your address and in email explain your situation . Portal 1 and 2 emails are only for people who are already in Canada and they can land as a Permanent Resident in Canada. For your case you can land in Canada as PR. Most probably CIC will ask your passport and you have to send it to VFS global for stamping. Then you have to travel to Canada with COPR and that one time visa to land in Canada as PR and activate your COPR. But for now your first step os to inform that your status expired in Canada and you moved back to india and won’t be able to return to Canada.

Thanks for your reply Mis Bee.

I did inform IRCC about the situation and updated my address. In the email I responded "no" to that questions and mentioned that I don't have status but only TRV. What is the usual timeline that they revert after the first portal email where we repsond to these questions? It's been 2 weeks since I responeded to that email. How long should I wait to follow up or submit a web form or is there anything else I should do in parallel?

Also, does it look like a big enough issue to potentially result in rejection of PR?

Are you currently employed with same employer who supported your PNP ? Did you quit your job or not yet ?

I had to quit my job because I was outside Canada, I was working with CIBC. However, my application was under Masters graduate stream and I did not have a job back then so my job is not a factor I believe in my application.

If they issued you multiple TFN , don’t worry about it as your application is still in R10 completeness check stage. They can still change your application number to new number. For better view what’s going on you can call them and ask which application number is latest and final and can submit webform again with it .
Thanks Misbee for your prompt reply. Already submitted the webform on 05.10.2024 asking which TFN I should follow. Lets wait for the reply from IRCC.

Hi everyone,

I've completely run out of ideas and time.

We've lived in Canada since June 2018. I took a 2-year college and got a 3-year PGWP.

I received the Invitation to Apply to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) through the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream on January 19, 2024.

The application was sent on February 1, 2024. The processing time was 120 days, meaning it should have been processed on June 1st at the latest.

Before our latest Work Permit expired on July 14, 2024, we applied for a visa extension to maintain our legal status in Canada. We had hoped we would receive our nomination before the 119-day estimated time to process the Permit. We would upload the nomination through web-form.

Now, it's early October, and we still haven't heard from OINP. I've contacted my MP and my MPP. My immigration consultant follows up with the province every week. We're dangerously close to having our work permit extension denied for not providing the nomination.

In the meantime, Ontario hasn't joined the Temporary Public Policy (TPP), which would allow us to wait for the nomination process.

It is absurd that we risk losing our jobs and, subsequently, our PR application even though we were invited by OINP. How are they able to be so late with no repercussions, and we're left with no recourse and no court to appeal our case?

Thank you

Yes you don’t need to do medical again unless requested by officer . You should include copy of your E- medical sheet in your application. You can use old expired medical again in your application . Include sheet now instead of sending later on .
Thanks @Miss bee for helping as always!
Just wanted to confirm… when uploading files in the portal, I should upload the documents separately, right? The portal is very different from the other portal used for the study and work permit before. I merged files in one document and uploaded it as one file. Is it true that Non EE Portal, IRCC prefers separate files, no matter how much files you upload? Thanks for the clarification again

If there is no section to upload anywhere regarding medical, you should include it under optional documents.

@Miss bee do you think I should be worried on this situation considering it was under Masters graduate stream

Got it. But let’s say when I upload documents, each document should be separate or can I merge them?
For example, under medical examinations, there’s one uploaded file for myself and one for my spouse or do I merge our two files and then upload it as one?
