Asylum seeker work permit delayed

Hi,

I am an asylum here in Canada my case has been referred to IRB but my work permit is pending for more than 125 days since applying. I am stuck inside my room most of the time for last 7 months without work permit lonely and broke with no money to buy even basic things like food and mobile recharge. I have too much time to think without money and worried about my future.

Please advise how to get Answer from IRCC whether my work permit is approved or rejected. Because I can’t stay inside my home forever.

I have completed my interview, bio metrics and Medicals and also received brown paper. Except work permit

Sorry to hear about your situation, as others have said following up with IRCC is key and if you can definitely approach your local MP to help with your case. I would call IRCC weekly, ask them to flag your case/contact the officer in charge of your file if it is beyond the estimated timeline they have for work permits.
You probably already know this but there should be some community organizations in the area you live that could help with food. If you are in Ontario you can likely apply for Ontario Works and if not, perhaps your province has a similar support.
