@Dan321, thanks for your response. However, my question was concerning the options available for the question on - What does your family member want to do in Canada? (required).

What option did you select from below?

-Apply to remain in Canada as a visitor
- Apply for or extend an open work permit
-Apply for or extend a study permit
-Apply for or extend both a work permit and a study permit

Thanks.

Am sorry I didn’t understand your question.
Where did you see this question in IRCC Portal or GC account?

Does anyone know the paper application? I called today and they said that a Minor who does not hold a permit needs to apply offline, I have already submitted ours online, but the officer told me minor should go paper application rather than online.

Yes we got his TRV took about 2 months though to get the passport request. This is the checklist and form link that you have to complete and mail to the Ottawa office: Document Checklist: Temporary Resident Visa (Visitor Visa) – Applicants in Canada (IMM 5721)

Hope that helps.

Oh my god, I read about the same problem about three years ago in this forum. I applied three times. Two were rejected (they said my son has a visitor record, so I should apply for a TRV), and now I am waiting for the decision on the third attempt.

Hi. Could you please share more details about the timing? I am planning to travel abroad in December, and I am afraid that applying by paper will take me all these remaining months.

thanks

Hi, I am a worker and staying my family here in Canada. I have renewed my work permit and I am planning to get TRV for me and my family.

I can't find a way to add my family to TRV application form online. It only gives option to "apply or extend for stay as visitor/worker etc" if I add a family member in my application.

I created a separate application for my wife. So far its good.

Now when I try to create a separate application for my child, it is only giving me option to "apply or extend for stay as visitor or Temporary Permit Holder".

How can I apply for my Child online? Appreciate your quick help!
I have similar situation, please guide on how you submitted your kid's application eventually. It would be a great help.

My only advice is not to apply online with the option "visitor holder" or something related to the visitor record or permit. I did that three times, and the three times were rejected (the quick reply was: your son holds a valid visitor record; apply for a TRV instead). Applying by paper (sending the document to Ottawa) is a successful option. A friend of mine did that, and it only took 10 days. I plan to do the same next week.

Hi, I applied via paper application with a cover letter explaining the situation. It took around two months to get an email for passport request.

I have noticed that the times for the IRCC could vary significantly for the same process. For example, my PGWP took three months, while another person's only took one month.

Thanks for your quick response, does this mean that IRCC doesnt have an option to submit TRV extension application for minor dependants? I did submitted my TRV application along with my wife and son, and I have been asked to submit the form 5257 whereas for my wife and kid it was form 5708. Eventually I got my TRV but both my wife and kid's application has been withdrawn, since IRCC provided incorrect forms and I trusted them blindly. Now I am trying to submit application through my wife's IRCC account, this time I was able to get the correct form 5257 for my wife but same incorrect form 5708 for my son.
So is it clear that IRCC doesnt have an option to submit TRV application online for Minors??
