IRCC uses the applicant’s current residential address on file to determine if they are already in Canada or not. If this information shows the applicant to be in Canada, IRCC will be sending you the P1 and P2 emails otherwise; you will be receiving PPR (Passport Request).

Note that if for any reason, the applicant happen to come Canada before you receive PPR, you’re expected to notify IRCC via webform so that address on file will be updated. Good luck!
Thanks for your helpful response.

Hello,
This is a very difficult problem so was curious if anyone has faced something similar. My mother received her PR and will be flying out next week. We have a neighbour who has been trying to cause issues since a while to force us to sell our land to them . From some source they got to know that my mother is flying to Canada hence the wife went to police station with a complaint that my mom yelled at her or something. The police called and asked my mother to go to the station on Saturday which she is doing along with our lawyer. My mother does not even go to the backyard or downstairs as she has some issues with her leg.
It is evident that the intention is to stop her travel but I am unsure how this will affect her travel . Has anyone had such experience?

Thanks

No idea. But your mother has already involve with a lawyer. Why don't you ask the lawyer?

In Canada, a noise compliant by a neighbour will not get a warrant to stop travel. Not sure what country your mother lives at now.

You definitely need to contact IRCC as this has exceeded current processing time for receiving of first PR Cards which is supposed to be 25 days.
If they confirmed it was shipped out to you and you haven’t received it after 6 weeks it was sent out; they will advise you on the next steps. Good luck!

Hello everyone, any help from people who went through or experienced this or have an idea on such requests will be appreciated. The following Letter was received for the PGP applicants and were given only 7 days to respond with the requested information. It is worth mentioning that the application was stuck in security check for years

- All family members, whether accompanying or not, must undergo medical examinations and provide police certificates during the primary applicant's immigration process, as per subsection 70(1)(e) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations. Exceptions include legally separated or divorced spouses and children not in the applicant's legal custody. Failure to complete these examinations means the applicant cannot sponsor these family members later, according to section 117(9)(d) of the regulations.

1/Official documents/explanation pertaining previous arrests, charges, convictions or detention from border officers anywhere in the world (for everyone in the application) - NO arrests or any previous charges anywhere, the applicants wonder what this refer to - could be a mistake, etc?

2/ Detailed explanation/affidavit of military history with a completed IMM5546 (if applicable) - No any military background/history, is an affidavit required in this case?
3/Police certificates for any country where you have lived for more than 6 months since the age of 18 - This was sent before (if Applicants are in Canada, do they need police/RCMP criminal check certificate?)

4/ explanation of government employment history (if applicable) - sent before

5/ Updated passport

The Letter cited that if the requested information not received before the 7days deadline a decision will be made based on the information currently on file, and no further opportunity will be provided to provide additional details or clarifications and may result in the rejection of the application and no further consideration will be given to the permanent residence application unless a new application and fees is submitted.

is this considered a PFL or something else? any input will be helpful

Need Help Please !

We received Passport submission request in early July 2024 for my mothers PGP application.

She is US Green card holder and permanent address given is of USA. Now immediately after we received the request to submit passport she was planning to visit me in Canada, so we submitted the passport to CPCO Ottawa PO Box address as mentioned in the request, once she was in Ontario.

Now its over 13 weeks have not received the passport. Agents in call center just have one answer to wait. Some say that since applicant was in Canada when passport was sent, its a virtual landing process, buts still no solution as to when and how can we get passport back, if sent by mistake.

I did fill the urgent passport retrieval email twice but no progress.

I am stuck, mom needs to travel to USA and we or agents have no clue as to when, where and why passport is stuck.

What to do next?

Tried reaching out local MPP but waiting on response.

Any email or contact address or phone number for CPCO Ottawa?

Help needed and thank you.
