What are GCMS notes?
GCMS stands for
Global Case Management System, which keeps track of immigration applications on behalf of the applicants. The Global Case Management System is accessible to temporary residence applicants, such as visitor visas, study permits, and work permit programs, and permanent residency, including express entry, family sponsorship, and provincial nomination program.
The system contains in-depth information on each applicant file, including documents received from the applicants, correspondence from IRCC, reviews from each officer, and more. The
GCMS notes CIC is the only way applicants can get accurate and relevant information about their application status on the IRCC system. The
GCMS notes Canada is issued under the guidance of the Access to Information and Privacy Act (ATIP), the federal law that provides access to information to any Canadian citizen, permanent resident, temporary resident, and government department in
Canadian citizenship. However, if you don’t fall under any of the above categories, you may have to follow certain criteria to
apply for GCMS notes IRCC.
