My friend applied PR in 2021 April and after one year he moved to ottawa and then calgary now address and everything is updated in the file already long time ago but still in gcms notes primary office is CPC Mississauga and secondary office is CPC montreal.
To be fair they might need to explicitly ask IRCC to change their office. The federal civil service is well-known for being overworked and underpaid.

Can anyone explain to me why would quebec take more time than sny other province in canada? What is soo special about it?
I applied 20 months ago..when i applied i didn't have my CSQ but after 2 months i got it.
Should i send my CSQ by the portal even if they didn't ask me for it? Would that help?
I applied on October 2022.

You can move out of Québec. Uploading your CSQ may help but marginally. Québec has its own immigration quota, which if filled up quickly, causing applications to be rolled over into future years.

As much is literally explained on IRCC’s website.
As per the why: Québec has tried to separate from Canada. To prevent that, Ottawa had effectively transferred several competences to Québec. Which included most immigration cases. Including the right to set up their own immigration levels plan and selection criteria for most immigrants.

My god 39 months for PR applications within Québec what a sh**show! My guess is that this delay won't juat stop at PR applications. It will also extend to citizenship and family reunification applications.

Actually for family reunification the processing time is already longer for quebec...but for citizenship it's the same. it doesn't take that long .
What did ircc told you about your pr? Background check is done? And what is your nationality?
I'm syrian still waiting 20 months now

It's basically like this:
  • Security: Not Started
  • Criminality: In Progress
  • Org Crime:
  • Misrepresentation:
  • Info Sharing: In Progress
I just noticed that since Quebec has its own separate thing now, the expected processing time for the rest of the country dropped from 28 to 24 months.

Oh and to answer you other question, I'm Yemeni.

Citizenship doesn’t have a quota, so no. Family reunification? It has been hovering around 40 months since forever.

Hi everyone,

I hope all is well. I am a protected person and need some urgent information from you all. My original work permit expired on April 21st, 2024, but I applied for a work permit extension on February 3rd, 2024. I received a letter on February 4th, 2024, which mentioned that "you are authorized to continue working under the same conditions as your original work permit until August 1st, 2024, or until a decision is made on your application, whichever is first." Additionally, my PR application is in process with a timeline of July 23rd, 2024, but no decision has been made yet.

The work permit extension processing time has ended for over two months, and there are only 13 days left until the PR processing timeline ends. However, no decisions have been made regarding either my PR application or my work permit extension. I called an IRCC agent on July 2nd, 2024, and the agent told me that I can continue working after August 1st, 2024 if no decision has been made by then.

Can you advise me on whether I can continue working, or if I might lose my job?

Thank you!

Its clearly mentioned in letter wordings quoted above that you can continue working until you got a decision. Nothing to worry.

Thank you so much for your support but I am still confused if I can continue to work until a decision is made, and why it is mentioned in the letter, whichever is first. if I am able to work until I get a decision, why was it necessary to mention about August 1st, 2024?
thanks
