Why does background take so long?
There are multiple steps in it. They can decide to halt your application in between. Also, you can be sent to comprehensive security screening (which takes more than a year).

If your application is approved before 6 months, there's no delay or no process that took longer than expected.

Paying RPFP later definitely adds time to your application's processing.

Someone will always get processed faster as it isn't an apple to apple comparison between two individual applications. Good thing is, IRCC is fast. Look at those who applied pre 2020, they used to wait for 8-12 months with no PR tracker - that was slow. With IRCC right now, you never know, you can still be processed within 2-3 months.

Hopefully that is our case. It's strange to me why pnp is processed faster initially and then slower after. To be honest, I'm sure their could be some sort of trust agreement implemented that speeds things along.

You would be surprised how many people here post a rant about processing delay and end up receiving the approval email within a few hours :D This is a very unpredictable journey tbh, but since you are inland, have fun while you are waiting(as you are not contingent on waiting to move to start a life).

Keep your mental health in check to ensure when the good news comes, you aren't tired of immigration fatigue. I do hope you get your approval email soon :)

I’m AOR Apr 01.
No FD. Nothing on the tracker or GCKey.
Literally not even a single ghost update.
I had some hopes I might fit into the 60 day or 70 day crowd for receiving PPR since AOR.
And let’s face it, there are loads of people that do get it within that timeframe.
But in my case I’m at 79 days today and my eligibility isn’t even completed. So PPR will definitely be past the 90 day line.
Within my stream this is what I would call the slow crowd and I’m definitely moving into it.
Feels weird and a bit hard to digest.
Does every batch have a 60 to 70 day crowd and who constitutes it?

Don't let yourself down. So many people who get processed in their 4th month or 5th month and so on too - so there's hope. Your RFV/PPR will come, meanwhile prepare yourself for your settlement in Canada as you are likely going to land here during winters when the job market isn't as hot.

Also, try to think about this: What would be the person that you want to be 5 years from now want you to do today? Would he/she want you to worry about things that you don't have a control over or would they want you to work on something important?

You've the ITA, you'll get the PPR/RFV soon - just have to wait out without fatiguing yourself.

Last update on my tracker was May 28, background check, eligibility, medicals and biometrics all turned green since May 27th but since then, silence. No portal email, no final decision, no RFV… I’m exhausted to say the least.

Anyone in same shoes as me?

Yeah, birth pains I guess is what it is. I’ve been keeping everything inside for a long time and haven’t told anyone about my journey. Why tell them when I haven’t even passed eligibility? So as of now there is nothing to celebrate and nothing to look forward to. Just a long, dreadful wait. And a last-updated date on the tracker that seems frozen in time. I guess it’s breathe in and breath out and focus on daily tasks to occupy oneself with. Dreadful journey though. Just dreadful.
After spending more than a year talking to folks on this forum, I get to see the pain of waiting time and again. Whatever you are going through, I hope you get what you want so that it puts an end to your pain :) Cheers!

Your application is pending a final review by the case processing officer.

"Look at those who applied pre 2020, they used to wait for 8-12 months with no PR tracker" - I can relate and forget about the PR tracker, the GCKey was way different than what it is today (there used to be no dates against each step as it appears today). Imagine the level of anxiety people would have back then (2018-19-20), the IRCC call center was even harder to reach. Amazing how applicants back then didn't have anything to rely on, for actual application status and still managed to control the emotions :) . This comment of yours brought in too many memories.
