Unclear when your son was born and whether he is in Canada or abroad. Yes as a PR you are required to be and remain in Canada during the sponsorship process. A vacation of 2-3 weeks seems to be overlooked. Is the spouse sponsoring your son compliant with their RO?Hi, I applied my son PR on 31/Oct/2023, He born in UAE while we were having PR status.
We permanently moved to Canada in July so i thought not to waste time and have applied his PR.
Will keep everyone posted with the timeline and outcome.
My son born abroad back in 2021, at that point my and whole family was having Canadian PR, i just landed 2 months back in Canada permanently and applied the PR. i brought my son on TRV,Unclear when your son was born and whether he is in Canada or abroad. Sorry, can you please be more clear on this? Are you compliant with your RO?
Are you compliant with your residency obligation, ie. 730 days + in Canada in last five years or since day of first landing (if you landed less than five years ago).Sorry, can you please be more clear on this?
So i landed on 02/Aug/2020 and left Canada and returned back 25/July/2023, My PR issued on 02/Aug/2020, so i just calculated the days and i was out of Canada 1057 days exactly,Are you compliant with your residency obligation, ie. 730 days + in Canada in last five years or since day of first landing (if you landed less than five years ago).
Or possible easier way to calc: have you been outside of Canada less than 1095 days since becoming a PR (or last five years if you landed more than five years ago). If it's less than 1095 days outside Canada, you are compliant.
If it's been less than 1095 days (three years) since you became a PR, you have been outside Canada less than 1095 days since becoming a PR.
You should be fine to sponsor then. Strong note to keep in mind the residency obligation going forward - like I would definitely recommend travelling as little as possible until you've accumulated the 730 days plus.So i landed on 02/Aug/2020 and left Canada and returned back 25/July/2023, My PR issued on 02/Aug/2020, so i just calculated the days and i was out of Canada 1057 days exactly,
Thanks dear, yeah no more travel now until clear all my obligations and get the citizenship, thats the reason delayed my permanent move, so i now moved will stay in Canada.
