Hey Guys,

Does anyone know if BLS is accepting walk-ins on Saturday for OCI application?

BLS where? Toronto and Brampton are generally open on Saturdays and accepts all types of applications by walk-in. I have not heard of any changes to that policy. This Saturday also they are supposed to be open. However, slots for walk-in are limited and depends on how busy the day is, how many appointment no-shows etc. Saturdays are particularly busier than weekdays.

I have sent originals along with postal application to BLS and haven’t received them yet .( more than a month ago)

Do you think they will be at BLS brampton or at CGI toronto?
I am planning to go and enquire about it .

After you get all three dates on the "processed" status updated at OCI site, you should normally get OCI by courier in 3 working days. Could be Nov 21st in your case assuming the process completes tomorrow. If the OCI site does not update all three dates by tomorrow you will have to consider pickup.

For the OCI application of a married female, does one need to submit a 'name change affidavit' if

1. Indian and Canadian passports have identical given and last names
2. 'Marriage certificate' has a different middle name and maiden name?

For example, before marriage the name was- 'Priyanka Sunil Sharma' and after the marriage it is 'Priyanka Aditya Shukla'. The Canadian and Indian passports contain the name 'Priyanka Aditya Shukla' but the marriage certificate has 'Priyanka Sunil Sharma' as the name.


(I believe the applicant needs to provide her previous name in the respective section in the OCI form.)
Kindly advise. Thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone.. my oci status just changed to ‘processed’. I was unaware of this forum up until a couple of days ago.. and i would like to thank all of you for the great support and advice..

My timeline is as follows:
Walked into BLS Vancouver - Oct 2nd
Date of Acknowledgment- Oct 5th
Processed - Nov 16th..

I hope and pray that all of you receive yours soon!!

That is the BLS inconsistency in display. For some status doesn't change at all (no, counter delivery, or tacking number appears) but still gets dispatched on time.
For me everything happened as per the "book" -- counter delivery update at 4:30pm yesterday, ready for dispatch around 10:30 this morning, purolator label created by noon, tracking number soon after, and finally purolator picked up the package around 2:20 pm. Scheduled to deliver tomorrow.
Wonder how BLS manages these things if there is no consistent processing protocols to follow.

Just checked now and status says « Passport ready For Collection after OCI stamping » with the same additional comments of track number , as it’s being sent by puralator with eta of tomorrow…

In this case the inconsistency is coz I think they don’t have business rules to change to « Ready for dispatch » as I opted for postal delivery in the Last minute when status had changed to processed… but yeah the frustration is real, when their software systems are designed so poorly

I am finalizing my OCI application and want to confirm if everything is alright with my application - Do I send in any original documents ( indian Passport, canadian passport, citizenship /birth/marriage certificate) and I just have to self attest the copies ?

Don't send original. Just self attested copies.
