Can I extend my parents' stay with a super visa within Canada?

My parents have been in Canada for 5 month on a visitor visa. When I try to apply for visitor record for them, I got the option "You may be eligible to extend your stay in Canada using a parent and grandparent super visa" and I was required to provide their one-year insurance, my proof of income, and invitation letter from me. Does that mean it is possible to get a super visa when they are within Canada?

No. They cannot get a super-visa within Canada. They can extend their stay as visitors.

Do they already have a supervisa? Unless there has been a change they should only be able to attempt to extend their stay as a normal visitor. If there has been a change and you do have a supervisa already can you show proof of insurance and that you meet LICO?
