Hello All,

I got nominated today (Submitted my application on 11th June). Thanks for all the support to community here.

Question: I am planning to accept the nomination but I am also about to change my company i am working in next few days (my NOC code and job responsibilities will remain the same as Software Engineer). I am wondering will it impact my nomination ? Do i need to inform OINP about the upcoming job change. In nomination letter, it just mention to update express entry profile with updated information if you start new career. So want to verify the right next steps in my scenario ?
ARE YOU INLAND?

I don't think you need to inform OINP if you already got the nomination. However, do add it to your express entry going forward. You can attach the offer letter as proof. Your points won't be impacted so no worries.

So happy on getting the ITA! Thank you everyone, was so helpful to have this community! :)

Now the 9-month long wait after document submission begins! I hope this figure of 9 months accounts for the slowdown that will probably be caused by the holiday season! :( Also hoping the escalating tensions between india and Canada does not cause complications :(

Post-ITA thread link please :)

I have seen a few nominations for those who submitted their applications in the second week of June. I have also seen that a few applications for the second week of June submission have already progressed to the DIP stage, rather than getting stuck in the assessment stage for 2 months!!!!! It's too annoying!!
We submitted June 22nd and still Submitted.

So I have question. When filling the PNP application for OINP it mentions if I have used any other name like at birth. I have a name in my birth certificate 'Name B alias Name A'. Now the problem is that I have literally never seen that name anywhere other than the birth certificate and every other document including my first and subsequent passports has always been Name A. I had gotten an affidavit paper advertisement during passport to get it changed so that my passport never mentioned Name B anywhere. I have all those documents but I didn't fill that info in my PNP application to OINP (yes I screwed up there). Now I have been nominated and OINP never asked for birth certificate (probably why it was never on my mind). Neither does IRCC as it turns out but now that I have to fill IRCC application I am thinking I will enter that information so that I don't misrepresent and since I have all those documents to prove anyway. Question is if I should inform OINP and get a new nomination certificate instead and reject my ITA right now so that I don't misrepresent to OINP. I am confused because if they revoke my nomination and say I will have to wait for a new NOI then I am screwed for good. What a stupid mistake to make.

The alternative is that I don't mention it in EE either and just get a new birth certificate that doesn't mention my old name (since I already have done that for the passport it should be doable but maybe not in 60 days). Since that name is not relevant to me it shouldn't matter if I get a birth certificate for it. Again, EE never asks for birth certificates anymore (single applicant) so they shouldn't care. Its just that I don't want to misrepresent going forward now that I know I made that mistake.

No worries, you can just mention all different formats of your name in the alias section and just give an LoE. I have different forms of my name in education docs to I had to get it notarized for OINP itself . But my friends just got it through with an LoE. Its not a big deal. Dont panic

Wow thanks. But LoE to whom ? I have not submitted EE IRCC application yet. So I can always edit that information before submission. I am wondering if I should inform OINP now that I am nominated with the docs without the information of my birth name which was never used anywhere anyway.

Edit: edited the confusion

I think you should just change birth certificate if it's easy enough as it hasn't been used in literally anything else. This way you will avoid any inconsistencies. Since they don't ask for it in application, the process for birth certificate change can continue without obstructing your application submission. Keep things as clean as possible.

I am also thinking this is the best route. Why complicate things. Since I already have all the documentation for it (name change affidavit and a paper ad) from more than a decade ago when I first got my passport it would be a lot easier to get a birth certificate if ever I needed it. Other than that one birth certificate it doesn't exist anywhere. That way it won't ever bother me again anyway.

The thing about other names is that people are either known by it or have some documentation where it mentions that so that the visa officers know that it's the same person by mentioning it and providing documentation. But thats not my case. I have no mention of that name anywhere other than birth certificate.

Since you have the name change affidavit it should be okay. You would have uploaded the letter of explanation for OINP right? do the similar thing with IRCC and just mention it wasnt required at OINP since the birth certificate was not needed. You should be good.

Getting your birth certificate changed will take more time and may complicate things for you.

I have not notified OINP. Thats actually my problem. I am already nominated so what should I do now is the question.
