hi all,
Sharing the timeline for my brother's study permit application for the Jan 2023 intake (non-SDS) from Kuwait (holding a Pakistani passport)
  • College applied for: Langara College, BC
  • Program: Computer Studies Diploma
  • Application submitted: 11th Oct 2022
  • Biometrics: 16th Oct 2022
  • No updates in between and we didn't enquire too as we were skeptical that the response won't come anytime soon (don't know when the eligibility of background was completed)
  • Correspondence letter: 16th November 2022
  • PPR: 16th November 2022 (Processing office: Abu Dhabi)
I'll be happy to answer questions if any :)
Please did you apply on new portal or gckey?

Hi all!!

Sooo mine's a pretty odd case. I applied for my sp with my sister in June, had the biometrics done in July and we were waiting for quite some time. October rolls in and my sister's visa was accepted, and ircc canceled my application saying "Your visa has already been approved on another application." So they think we're the same person. We filed for a web form and no reply! So I had to reapply on 12th Oct and now I've been stuck on "reviewing your eligibility" for over two weeks now. We've both applied for Jan 2023 and I still haven't received anything...

Your processing would have begun again on October 12 so expect 12-14 weeks for processing. Review of eligibility can take many weeks so not "stuck" per se.

I submitted my Application for SP August 13 2022.
I had my biometric done since 2015 when I visited Canada and still updated so I was not requested for that
Medical not requested yet

It was suppose to be 13 weeks, Today will make it 14 weeks of visa processing, no update yet. Please do you think I should raise a webform or just wait. Thank you
Same situation, I too applied on 13th august but got no response yet. Did you get the decision?

I just received a rejection letter. Even though I got 42000 dollars in scholarship (21 K for tuition waiver and 21 K scholarship from supervisor), they consider I don't have enough funds. What should I do ? any input will be appreciated. For information, I have an LOA for a PHD program, I applied alone (no accompanying family). I did not submit any document related to funds except the scholarships.

You need to have included some of your own funds to support living expenses. Canada is expensive and relying just on scholarship money is not enough. Was the scholarship money unconditional and for every year of the program (eg will not be cancelled if your studies don’t go well)?

The scholarship were for every semester for 4 years. The problem is I never worked and my family cannot help, so I don't have any proof of funds other than that.
