Hello,
Here is my timeline:
8/31/2022: TRV within Canada applied online
9/29/2022: Request for passport
10/6/2022: Passport arrived at Ottawa
10/27/2022: TRV approved
10/28/2022: tracking got activated
11/1/2022: passport is delivered
(Canada post almost lost my passport. Lesson Learned never use Canada Post for passport or anything important).
Canada post lesson learned items: Always double-check or triple check with the person who is at the desk at Canada post to include a signature request for both envelope. She included it in the envelope going to Ottawa but forgot to include it in the counterfoil envelope so when the tracker got activated, it shows my passport was delivered to my mailbox without a signature but my passport was not in my mailbox. I was freaking out and I ask around my neighbors, I opened a ticket with Canada post and went around nearby Canada post offices to see if my passport is there. I didn't find it. Canada post was not really helpful and did not give me any info on the mailman contact or the investigator contact. So I took a day off of work and sat next to my mailbox the next morning until the mailman show up. When he showed up I asked him to search for it and we found out that he put my passport in the wrong mailbox number so stocking your mailman helped. The address in the envelope was correct but the mailman made a mistake. If I didn't do this, my passport would be at a wrong address or went back to Ottawa. I googled Canada post losing passport, it seems very common, especially in Nova Scotia. So next time I will opt out to use other companies such as Fedex/UPS/DHL or whatever private one that is expensive. Do not trust Canada post, it is not just me many folks have lost their passport and only receive refund for it but who cares about refund the process to re-order passport and being stuck in Canada without a passport is a nightmare. So be careful when using Canada Post, I do not trust them anymore)
