previous month: called IRCC to inform change of address, never reached the point of talking to an agent. dropped the plan after trying for two weeks.

today: called the IRCC again and telephone said i need to wait for 19 minutes or request a call back from an agent.
me: wow that's amazing, how lucky am i !
proceeded to give my number

turned off the flight mode, switched ON the vibrate on ring, ring volume absolute max. carried phone with me with airpods on.
laptop screen with ecopr pdf, set the screen to not go off indefinitely.

after 35 minutes
a call on my phone.
IRCC agent: We won't be able to provide infos cause our system's all down, or if you have any general enquiry we may be able to help.

me: what abt pr card?

Agent: Sorry the systems are down. you may call again when our system's are up

me: Ok so when do you expect the systems be back?

Agent: Unable to answer it, but you may call again when our system's are up

Me: Ok Bei

Try faxing IRCC the address notification form, if they gave you one at the time of landing.

I think the biggest challenge is finding a job In canada.
I am not bragging but I know the quality of work I do I am a kind of person who can perform a wide range of tasks .I am a kind of person who gets the job done what ever it takes.
Now this I what I faced in canada
Most of the interviews I attended they have a candidate in mind even before they start the interview.
Experience 1 the company I said they have 5 interview, when I reached 3rd they said they hired someone, I saw in linked in that the person who was doing that job was having a major in food science where it was a production planner role which is an industrial engineer job it just doesn't make sense.
Experience 2. If you want to excel in careers French will take you long way.I got screwed up twice because I don't know french .I can assure I can do those jobs with 0 training from day 1.
Experience 3.Interviews are mostly as I said is crap show the hiring manager told me "we are not trying to hire the best candidate, some times we have to be political" wtf a job is a damn job if someone can do it wtf is the politics.

Canadian job market is very wieard, it depends a lot on who you know than what you know or what you can do,no wonder why we don't have global brands from canada .
fack alberta sounds rough

tonight a random chinese woman texted me on whatsapp, she said someone told her my number was recommended if she wanted to buy a house in Canada.
First thought, why my no. is recommended for this and by who
Second Thought, @ImpatientKangaroo was right. Foreigners and Chinese buying all property in Canada from outside
Someone must've given your number instead of @navinball 's number by mistake.

The amount of documentation and verification landlords ask here is just insane, compared to the US. They literally phoned my employer to check if I'm for real.
Yeah I found the whole process of finding an apartment in Canada quite humiliating compared to US. But then in Canada it is petty difficult to remove a non paying tenant so landlords just go overboard

Hello, when do you guys think the latest that the CRS cutoff will go down at 470+ range? Will it be possible to be on the early or mid-2023?

The equilibrium was about 469 when FHS target was ~100k and draws were mostly all programs.

Now that FHS target is <60k, even if draws remain all-programs (BIG IF HERE), I really doubt the equilibrium will drop much below 480. Not to mention the time it takes to reach that equilibrium due to the long pause of draws.

481 is a dealbreaker in terms of ITA prospects because that’s the realistic maximum for a lot of outlanders, many of whom already try to max out IELTS during the FSW pause. For something like 478, assuming no more quota slash AND no CEC-specific draws AND the candidate does not age above 30, maybe hope for ITA by end of 2023.

I currently sit at 474. I wonder if I should learn french... But, the target will be raised in 2023 and 2024 right? My IELTS will expire mid-2024..

I suggest trying French for a few months to decide whether to commit learning it for a year or more. With 474 you probably need to wait 12+ months for ITA, during which one might as well learn French.

Also watch out for NOC-based draws coming up. It’s going to be great news for some and bad news for others. I don’t think FHS quota will “ever” return to pre-2021 levels because a new TR2PR, different but permanent, is clearly looming. In 2024 there’s landed Ukrainian refugees to consider as their temporary status ends in 2025. All I’m saying is that these are weird times now. Don’t count on pre-pandemic trends or any constant-trend extrapolation when you can actually do something while waiting.
