@Beauhoe...nice to hear there are survival jobs in the beginning...i have a question..do u think a person like me who can speak french with some errors and more or less understand french(i.e. not perfect french)...can survive in quebec...??..someone told me without perfect french its impossible to get any job in quebec!!

Quebec would love to have people like you who don't speak French but have passion to learn and speak it. The so called Francisation program is designed to help new comers like you. Here, I am working with Carrefour Emploi Jeunesse de l’Outaouais (CEJO) to create an association and beginning this week, we have been delivering the job offers directly to members’ emails, the goal will be to get the job to new comers with the assistance of CEJO and we have been doing well so far.

Do your best to learn French as much as you can, not being able to speak it fluently should not become a barrier for you to come here. You will love Quebec as I do… Quebec has a lot of American Companies and you are going to have a lot of fun if you decided to come and stay in Gatineau. Just get your visa and we will welcome you here my friend.

I have not submitted my application for federal yet. The PCC in Malaysia is taking forever. However I have decided to send my application in first week of Oct whether i get the PCC by tht time or not. I will really appreciate if someone could help me out on my query.
When I submitted my application for CSQ, I had to send a photocopy of the application form for PR (IMM 0008). Now, I have to submit the original of it. However, when i am updating the form, its getting quite messy. So, I am filling up a new one. When I am reading the memo i got with my CSQ, its mentioned that I have to send the original of the IMM0008 and version 06-2002. Do i really need to send tht particular version or can I send the one I am downloading from CIC which is version 04-2010.

@beauhoe: I have read on the web about the areas of Gatineau such as aylmer, hull, etc... Which one of them is better in terms of cheap housing, security, schooling for kids and most important jobs?

Hello Shahzad and welcome to the forum.
1. Regarding to your IMM 0008, I will recommend you to send the original and the reason is that MICC has dated the first page, which mean that no matter when you submit your federal, CIC is going to consider your application from that stamped date (that may save you weeks or months on the total waiting length). It is okay if you decided not to send the original but the risk is that CIC will simply consider your application from the receiving date or the date stamped on the envelop by the post office. So here is what I did in other to send them a clear original IMM 0008: I made three copies of the first page of my IMM 0008 and I practiced on the three copies and once I feel comfortable and sure of the information that I was provided, I fill out the original first page (hand writing), however, I download all the rest of the application and used adobe to type everything. I hope that this work for you.

2. A couple years ago, the actually Gatineau was a piece of five small cities known as Gatineau, Hull, Aylmer, Buckingham and Chelsea. The authorities of the region decided to fuse them for a better management. A lot of people live in the city of Gatineau and work at Ottawa. Gatineau and Ottawa are connected by five bridges that make the interaction very easy between Quebec and Ontario. Hull is very close to Ottawa with four bridges and one with Aylmer. Security is everywhere makes it difficult for me to point out one sector. The government of Quebec is helping new developing area schools with better infrastructure. Buckingham and Chelsea are new developing area and houses are cheaper than Gatineau and Hull, however, if you have to work in Ottawa, it will take you longer (20 to 25 min). You don't have to buy a car because the public transportation system is great. Gatineau is a quiet place with only about 250000 people. Very good for students researches, professors and people who are tired of big city life like me. A lot of green areas which make you be in connection with Mother Nature. The air is clean and I can ask for better. I like it and I am enjoying every single minute of it. Oh jobs! You get more in Gatineau and Hull than other areas.

It is taking more than two months to get PR card. CIC is not accepting the passport pictures that we took from outland. They wait for two months and sent us a note asking to re-take new pictures according to the rules inland.

Will the BIQ send the photocopy tht i sent for CSQ application to my visa office. I didn't quite understand when do MICC stamp the form. I got a memo and a copy of the financial contract (stamped) with my CSQ and nothing else.
