Can anyone help with this question please. Are you able to work in Canada as soon as you have landed on PR status or do you have to wait for your PR Card?
Thank you,
Thank you,
you get the number on the same day. the card can take 4-6 weeks. you can give the number to HR and provide them with the card later.TorontoEH said:Thanks for the response. How long does it usually take to receive the SIN number?
Ya but inland applicants should already have a SIN via their OWP that comes with inland application, which they can continue to use until they get PR card and permanent SIN.Ponga said:MANY Inland applicants are reporting that they have been told that they do in fact need their PR card to get a SIN.
But not every Inland applicant submits an OWP with their Inland application. It only comes with their Inland application if they applied separately for an OWP.Rob_TO said:Ya but inland applicants should already have a SIN via their OWP that comes with inland application, which they can continue to use until they get PR card and permanent SIN.
There is no reason an inland applicant shouldn't submit an OWP app either at time of initial application, or after getting AIP.Ponga said:But not every Inland applicant submits an OWP with their Inland application. It only comes with their Inland application if they applied separately for an OWP.
they can apply for OWP after AIP which is much before the landing. so most people will have a permit while waiting for DM. unless they are happy to remain out of status. even students can get SIN now.Ponga said:But not every Inland applicant submits an OWP with their Inland application. Perhaps, but that still doesn't mean that everyone does.Rob_TO said:There is no reason an inland applicant shouldn't submit an OWP app either at time of initial application, or after getting AIP.
Sure there is. I didn't apply for an OWP because it would have been a waste of money. I didn't speak enough French to work here until pretty recently.Rob_TO said:There is no reason an inland applicant shouldn't submit an OWP app either at time of initial application, or after getting AIP.
