Hi all, I am Canadian citizen recently and work in Ontario remotely for a company located in Alberta that also have international workers. I wanted to work from south america this year but I was told that I could only work inside Canada because of additional cost to the company in regards to tax fees. Does anyone please know how can affect a Canadian company the fact that an employee work remotely outside Canada? Thank you guys!

This is really a question for someone with expertise in corporate taxes and tax treaties. However the short answer is that your company may end up being responsible for paying certain taxes related to your employment in both counties. So they are probably concerned about being double taxes.
